I wanted to write this post long time ago, well, here we go😄. As many of you suspect, breeders life is pretty much about a lot of cleaning, lack of sleep, constant worries, but also a lot of positive emotions watching small fur balls turn into real dogs😄. But there is one part I never thought about before - it is what happens with our retired dogs. This issue is discussed widely among general public, and of course most of breeders like me are being criticised for “getting rid” or “disposing” of loyal “puppy producers” once they can’t produce anymore… as much as it tempting to go into a deep philosophical discussion on the subject, I for myself chose a criteria by what I decide if a particular dog should be rehomed or not - would it be BENEFICIAL for this particular baby to get into INDIVIDUAL relationship with a new family? And by answering this question I taught myself not to think about my own emotions, not to allow heartache to take over, because in the end of the day I don’t matter, THEY do! This breed has been created to make people’s life full of companionship - whether you are in the mood or not, BT will be next to you, attached to a heap, seeking your love and hugs. And that is what they deserve in much more proportion than any breeder can give just because INDIVIDUAL attention is always better than a part of a group one. Here below you see two wonderful owners of my retired babies, and when I think about Berry and Sheeppa, I look at those pictures just to remind myself that they are HAPPY with their new families, and that makes me HAPPY for them too, pushing my heartache and worry for them away🙏. So, this post is probably more for the people who are considering adopting an adult BT, remember that quite often breeders like me have wonderful health tested babies, raised with love and care as true family members, who are so full of love and devotion, that they might make YOU happy as well🙏 Love this incredible breed 🥰🥰🥰.

Team BB (his second mom Sarah Kennedy and BB) delivered another “first” for Lighthouse Bostons - BB is placed #6 among Boston Terries in AKC ratings so far for 2024. Great team, great results, and as a side kick - BB fathers very nice litters as well 🥰🥰🥰 thank you thank you thank you BB and Sarah🙏

Can not stress out enough how incubators are important for new born puppies, especially for tiny babies like we have right now. This is the second “upgraded” version I build a year ago, and I can not “thank” it enough. Controlled temperature, humidity, oxygen port, nebuliser port, warm pad underneath-all that instantly makes puppies comfortable so they can concentrate on one task - digest the milk and grow😊. Buy the way, please meet new puppies out of Dante and Gvurah, 3 girls and one boy🥰. They are tiny, but mighty 🙏🙏🙏

We are happy to announce arrival of Elly and BB litter, 2 boys and 2 girls. Both parents did great, babies are strong and healthy (even the tiny boy). Very grateful 🥰🥰🥰

This year at Westminster Kennel Club Lighthouse Bostons will be represented by our 2 most titled graduates - BISS GCHS Lighthouse Bostons BB (really hoping you will make it there, dear Sarah Kennedy, BB’s co-owner and mommy), and GCH Lighthouse Bostons Lisa (given her cooperation to get in shape after having an amazing litter with late Tumble). Very honored and humbled 🙏

Babies are 1 day shy of 4 weeks and doing great so far. so impressed with Lisa as mom and Tumble as a great producer - all so cute and at least 2 contenders for show potential 🥰 just love them 🥰🥰🥰. Thank you Vicki and Sarah Kennedy again 🥰🥰🥰

So, after a traditional superstitious period of hold off (😂), I am happy to announce another gorgeous litter in Lighthouse Bostons, 2 boys and 3 girls from Lisa and Tumble (Vicky Kennedy), born on 11/10/23. Both parents are AKC grand champions, health tested beautiful highly intelligent Bostons with great personalities. It is always a risk to incorporate new blood lines into the program, but Lisa and Tumble just clicked beautifully. Thank you Mark Cantor for the idea, Vicky Kennedy for sharing Tumble with us, and as always Sarah Kennedy for being a part of this beautiful partnership. Loki, second boy from Gvurah and Marcel litter, our very shy baby and such a goof ball, also nicely settled with his new family. I was looking for a family who would allow him to have more cuddle time, and it looks like what he got. All puppies in litter are sooo smart and early maturinig, and Loki is not an exception -already walking on a leash and doing not bad with a house breaking 🥰🥰🥰. Very happy with this placement 🥰

Rosie, another graduate from Gvurah and Marcel litter, is very well settled with her new family, and even started to walk on the leash (very impressed with her new parents) 🥰. Lets hope this smart baby continues to behave no matter how much she gets spoiled 😁😁😁

So Leo, our first graduate from Gvurah and Marcel litter, has settled down with his new family, and so far things are going well😁. Why do I feel like an elementary school teacher who is seeing off her kids into the “adult life” of the middle school ?😂😂😂 so these babies better behave not to shame their alma-mater 😂😂😂

So, I am sleeping next to the puppies and if they see me, they immediately jump to say hi, so the only chance to catch them relaxed is to take “blind shots”, when they can only see my hand and hear the camera sound… this is what I got “blindly” 😂😂😂

I think all my precautions are overdue now😂😂😂, and it is time to announce a new Lighthouse Bostons litter, 3 boys and 1 girl, 3.5 weeks today. Great markings give some hope for show potentials (crossing fingers)😁🙏. Our dear followers, we are so pleased to share with you that our dear Prince Ed (now Frankie), has finally got the best home for him! This boy definitely knew what he was waiting for and now to say that all of us are happy with this placement would be an understatement 😁 Frankie is in paradise, and his mommy Lauren and his older sister are happy with the addition. Thank you all who encouraged me be patient, some puppies just know to wait for the best 🥰🥰🥰

What makes this program to go on despite all financial hardships of breeding this particular breed and financial difficulties of everyone? Its these precious insights into our puppies life. Meet Poppy, always inclined to dancing, and here giving the most cute flirting performance for a complete stranger. Great picture, reflecting very high intelligence level of Boston Terriers, and that is why we still doing it - for the love of this breed 🥰🥰🥰.
