***Adoption post***

Simba is an utterly adorable sweetheart with a really gentle nature. He's a handsome ginger lad, pretty much identical in looks and personality to Duke- only Simba has both of his eyes!
The third eyelid of his left eye is visible due to scarring on the cornea from a previously untreated ulcer. Poor lad wasn't taken to a vet at all until he was found near Pwllheli rugby club. He is prone to getting an ulcer in that eye- easily treated with eye drops, but we are hopeful that they will become fewer and further between as he grows.
He is neutered, litter trained (he's very clean and tidy with his tray), and up to date with worming and flea treatment.
He is happy to just sit and cuddle with his human (unless you've just put drops in his eye!), but will play with a catnip toy. He isn't bothered about the presence of other cats, but think he would be best off with a cat he can play with when he feels like it.
He enjoys exploring, so will love moving into a new environment. Recommend him being an indoor cat due to the less than perfect vision in his left eye, but he'd love a walk outside on a harness after the initial indoor period.
He will sit and purr for ages after eating, he is a very content little guy. He is around 9 months old, but small for his age- he will grow like a w**d once he gets his forever home :)

You may have noticed recently that the photos of the cats are suddenly not crap! This is due to the fact that we officially have a volunteer who helps out at the rescue now (hooray I hear you all cheer!), and she used to run her own pet photography business- so she brings her camera with her. Her name is Sam, and you know there's going to be a calendar available at the end of this year!
So, thank you Sam. And welcome aboard xx

So, Simba's horrendous ordeal of eye drops three times a day is over!
It will take time for him to adjust back to cuddles- he thinks when i pick him up, it's eye drops time 😥

This fabulous news means that he is now available for adoption!
I will write and publish this, and hopefully others, over the weekend.
In the meantime, here he is in his stunning ginger glory:

Thank you to everyone who donated to get Simba sorted at the vet.
Thank you so much to each and every one of you who has donated, shared posts, attended events, taken part in fundraisers. There would be no rescue without you. No cats and kittens would be saved without you.
Rescue work is ongoing (it's just the boarding aspect that is stopping for now), but I am fully aware that none of it could happen without the help and support of others. I am not good at showing appreciation (i'm now trying to work on that), but I appreciate every single one of you.

Here is a picture of Maggie, now living happily as an indoor cat who sleeps curled up on me. She was a stray who wouldn't go near people. Together, we all facilitate miracles. Thank you for enabling it :)

We need to move!
We are currently not taking in any new cases for the time being. We are looking for homes for our existing rescues, and aiming to pay off the outstanding vet bill and build up a contingency fund- all while hunting for our new space.
A complete revamp to the rescue and the way we do things is what we are aiming for. In addition to land/space/a field or two, we are looking for volunteers to join us. Whether you have 2 or 3 hours a month or every week that you could commit to the rescue, please get in touch. Many hands will be needed to get the new place up and running, and many hands will be needed to care for the cats. Please please get in touch if you have some land or know of some land, donation is ideal, but we are realists and willing to negotiate rental costs.

**Update**
Saw Geraint the vet today. He reckons it is the same ulcer, not a recurring one. And possibly some scarring from it has caused the third eyelid to stick- which is why it is always visible. This time, there's the suspicion that the third eyelid has some kind of infection too. So, Simba has had an antibiotic injection, and he has drops (different to others he has had previously) that he has to have 3 times a day.
He needs to go back on friday to check how the healing is going.
Paid today's bill in full, paid a little towards the outstanding balance and have some put aside for Friday's vet trip.

Simba needs to go to the vet in the morning. His eye ulcer is returning :(
It will cost around £60 i think (consult plus ointment), but the bank is empty :( (we have litter on the way and we have food in). I know how tough times are financially, but if a handful of followers could help with a small donation, then we will raise the money quickly.
(I'm putting together his adoption post ready for the moment his eye is better- in case anyone wants the headstart 😉)

***ADOPTION POST***

Lilo is an utterly adorable little girl. She is keen to investigate her surroundings, and just loves to play. She is a sweetheart who will cuddle once she has played and eaten, but don't expect cuddles if you've not fed her! She loves a head scratch and enjoys being picked up.
She likes to climb, so you mustn't be precious about your furniture or curtains. She is incredibly active and would probably benefit from another young cat in the home for her to play with. She did have a brother, Stitch, who was fiercely protective of her. He sadly died. She has really come out of her shell since and is thriving.
Lilo is around five months old, but small for her age. She will be spayed before going to her forever home.
She is litter trained-we suggest a hooded litter tray for her as she does like to throw it around! She is up to date with her flea and worming treatments.

A certain hyperactive little kitty wanted to say hello.
Piper is healthy, very happy (if her purrs are any indication!) and growing like a w**d :)
She has a while to go yet before she will be ready for adoption, but we have other kittens ready and their adoption posts are coming soon- they have a photo shoot this week!
