Little Cherry needs to go to the vet :(
I think she is developing an ulcer in her eye and I want to get her breathing checked out.
We don't have funds to pay for a vet visit- as you know, we have to pay at the time due to our outstanding balance.
If you can spare a few quid to put towards her trip to the vet, it will be most appreciated. I'll book her in for tomorrow.

Thank you so much to the stall holders and the visitors who came out yesterday for the makers' market. It's a shame it was so quiet.
I left with £80 more than i had when i arrived- and went promptly to spend it on cat food!
Special thank yous to Jeanette for organising the day, and Kay who made and served the refreshments.

It's on!
Come and join us all for cake and a panad between checking out the wonderful stalls.
We all need cheering up tomorrow after the horrendous weather today, so come along and support the rescue. There might even be some singing if enough folk are feeling christmassy! :)

We need to talk.
The storm has caused major damage, including fallen trees which are currently blocking the roads into Abersoch.
Council workers will not be out removing the trees and clearing the roads until the winds have dropped significantly- for their safety.
We have a great array of stalls signed up and raring to go, and an empty rescue bank account so this fundraiser is desperately needed.
I need to hear from you- stallholders, and folk who would be attending the event. I will go with the consensus. Do we cancel/postpone and hope we can get a date everyone can attend? (If it wasn't for the fact that we are hand to mouth for cat food and litter and there is no money in the bank, I'd be cancelling without a second thought)
Or, do we forge ahead and hope there is a way into Abersoch that is clear tomorrow?

06/12/2024

Just got the alert on my phone- that made me jump!
I'm about to brave the flying debris and the horizontal rain to go and feed the rescues. It's honestly amazing how much quieter the wind is when you get in the shed!

After paying yesterday's bill and putting bits and bobs towards it, here is the outstanding balance as it is right now.
£1259.74
It is slowly moving in the right direction.
It would obviously be paid off completely if we hadn't had so many recent cases needing vet assistance.
Thank you to each and every one of you who has donated and who has supported the rescue through this incredibly tough year.

An update.
Sad news first. Last week, Stitch-friendly, playful, gorgeous little Stitch died overnight having not been ill or showing any signs of being anything but himself. Much devastation here, as he was a particular favourite.
His sister, Lilo, is doing well. She is a chatty little girl with a curious playful nature- she is so ready for a home now!

4 kittens were taken to the vet yesterday: Simba has an eye ulcer, but we are on it with the meds and he will be up for adoption soon. Anna (not been with us long) has what seems to be the start of a cold so we've hopefully nipped that in the bud.
Duke went for a checkup after his nosebleed/upper respiratory infection, and he just has a sniffly nose now. So just a few days on an anti inflammatory and he should be right as rain and ready to go- he already has a couple of adoption applications in so I won't be writing a specific adoption post for him, please just complete the application form if you are wanting to adopt Duke, the one eyed ginger cuddle monster x
Piper went for her checkup after the decision had been made to give her eye chance to heal. Hers is a wonderful result. Her eye has recovered well, there's a small amount of scarring but, other than that, her eye is absolutely fine! :) it reacts to light, she can see with it (making giving her the drops a little difficult!) and she has no idea anything was ever wrong-she just wants to play! She still has to have the eye meds for a few more days, once they are done with she can be around other cats and actually play with them- she's definitely going to love that!
Yesterday's visit and meds cost £175, so I used money raised last week to pay for it. You can contribute in the usual ways.
We mourn little Stitch, but rejoice in the recovery of Piper.

Come along to our Christmas makers' market event, a week today in the wonderful Abersoch village hall. This event just keeps getting better and better! Not only do we have a fabulous selection of local stalls selling beautiful goodies, but the lovely Kay of Blades Deli will be providing and serving the refreshments- now it's a party!

Thank you so much to Quiz'n'Things for organising such a fun night.
Thank you to everyone who attended and took part tonight. Lots of laughter throughout.
We came away with £186 for the rescue!
Piper, Duke and Simba will be going for check-ups on monday, and we can hopefully still pay some off the outstanding bill.

Plans are afoot for another quiz night in the spring :)

**Edited to say that we think it is an upper respiratory infection. He has some meds which should help, and is going back for a checkup on friday.**

Little Duke has to go to the vet today, his nose is bleeding. Could be a sign of something simple, or something major.
We have to pay at point of contact while we still have the massive balance.
We have no money.
Please please send what you can to cover this kid's visit today and any meds he needs xx

Thank you x

Friday!! Fri-yay!!!
Don't miss this. Promises to be a great night, lots of fun, prizes to win, bring your friends. All proceeds are for the rescue (we need food, litter, obviously that pesky vet bill- so the more, the merrier).
Raise money while having a laugh.

Apologies for the delay in posting, I know a lot of you are waiting to hear about Phoebe and Piper.
Phoebe went in for her procedure Tuesday morning as planned (along with 3 male kittens to be neutered). When the phone rang, my heart sank. It is so cruel. Phoebe made it through the surgery, but died 45 minutes later in recovery. They tried cpr, but couldn't bring her round. I am sorry everyone, I know how much you were rooting for her as I was right there with you.

Duke and his brothers, Simba and Grumpy, were all fine after being neutered, and will each be up for adoption as soon as I can get photos and put the posts together.

Piper went in late yesterday (due to circumstances beyond my control) for her op this morning. Not long after leaving the vets yesterday, they called me (that made me panic, i can tell you) to let me know that they had discussed Piper's case and, due to the fact that her eye looks so much better they had to double check which one needed removing, along with her seeming to have no idea there was anything wrong, we are taking a different path with her. It may still lead to her having her eye removed, but she would be a little bigger then.
With antibiotic and antiviral assistance, we are giving Piper's eye a chance to heal. If it does heal, that's it, job done. If it doesn't, then she will need the op.
So, devastating news about Phoebe but hopeful news about Piper.
I'm off for an early night as i haven't slept much lately going through the mill with this trio.

Today is about Blue.I feel quite blue too.Collected him today to fetch him home.

Quick update as I know a lot of you are concerned about, and rooting for, the girls.
Both Phoebe and Piper are doing well. Fantastic appetites! They are enthusiastically eating 3 to 4 pouches of cat food a day, plus some formula to add calories- and some dreamies of course!
They are really good at taking their meds. Loxicom at the start of each day (such a tiny amount that they just let me syringe it into their mouths), along with an Opixcare l-lysine chew and Synulox antibiotic with their first and last meals of the day.
They get their eyes cleaned twice a day. And they get brushed in an evening- which they both really like!
They are alert, climbing up the bars (Piper likes to hang upside down from the top of her crate!) and purring.
As i type this, I am watching Phoebe have a wash after eating some lunch :)
I know you are all with me in hoping they continue to be so alert and active and well, thank you for your support always and for your lovely messages following the loss of little Pru x

⚠️WARNING ⚠️
FAKE SNOW IS POISONOUS TO CATS - please ensure your Christmas decorations are safe for your pets most products with fake snow are poisonous .

Fake snow Chrismas tree can be really dangerous if your pet ingests any.
Although cats climbing trees is one of the most common accidents we see around this time of year, this isn’t the only way trees can do damage! It's not just the fake snow that is dangerous. The oils in fir trees can be mildly toxic, which will cause an upset tummy if swallowed. The needles from tree can get stuck in your pets mouth, throat and paws

To avoid issues hoover or sweep regularly and don't leave your pet alone with the tree.
You can also look out for Nordmann Fir trees which are known as the ‘no needle drop’ trees and are a safer alternative.
