Last week at Kingsville's Jubilee Academy, CBAS's Linda Fuiman, Education-Outreach Chair, led an interactive presentation on 'Hummingbirds as Pollinators' for 3rd grade students, who were extremely knowledgeable and enthusiastic to learn more about these fascinating little birds. Fun times!

World Migratory Bird Day was a huge success thanks to teacher Corpus Christi and her students who lead guided tours around Redfish Pond. Linda Fuiman, CBAS had an interactive exhibit with the focus on how you can tell what a bird eats by looking at its beak and habitat. We also gave away 24 make-your-own bird feeder kits. Fun time was had by all.

What a fun time we had at Caraday Nursing Home. Linda Fuiman, CBAS gave a presentation to the residents about what birds they can expect to see in the Fall around the Coastal Bend. The topic sparked a wonderful interactive conversation with the residents. I look forward to returning in the future with more exciting bird topics.

BIRDABILITY...is birding for everybody, including those with disabilities.
Through education, outreach and advocacy, Birdability works to ensure the birding community, and the outdoors are welcoming, inclusive, safe and accessible for everybody. We focus on people with mobility challenges, blindness or low vision, chronic illness, intellectual or developmental disabilities, mental illness, and those who are neurodivergent, deaf or hard of hearing or who have other health concerns. In addition to current birders, we strive to introduce birding to people with disabilities and other health concerns who are not yet birders so they too can experience the joys of birding.

CBAS board members, Linda Fuiman and Dr. Paula Scott had a fun time participating at the Island Science Day. They demonstrated how you can tell what a bird eats by looking at its beak and habitat. We had improvised beaks and food for this fun activity enjoyed by kids and adults alike. Nikki, our Congo African Grey parrot was a big hit too.
