As a long time lover of dogs with a desire to do what's best for them I felt the need to provide the same kind of place for other dogs that I would want for mine. My dog daycare and boarding caters to small to medium dogs given that my own dogs range from 6 to 18 pounds. You want a safe place where your dog can be socialised and has the comforts of home. Someone who is understanding of your needs

as the dog parent, can give your dog a wee extra cuddle if they need it
and you peace of mind. We have refrigeration available for home cooked or raw diets, over 5000 sq ft of fenced in yard for play time and potty breaks. If your dog requires it I can administer meds subcutaneous or otherwise. No dog will be sent home with a dirty bum. All dogs will undergo a behavioural and health assessment to ensure they are a fit.

Honey is a dear little chihuahua new to our rescue. This little dog was a stray, rescued off the streets of Nuevo Laredo, Mexico. She was found rummaging for food around some trash bins. It’s shocking this little soul survived as long as she did. Thankfully, Endless Pawsabilities Animal Rescue in Texas got her into safety until she came to us here in Toronto.

Honey is around 6 years old and weighs 10 pounds. This little dog has had a lot of change in a short time. Her fosters find she does best with a slow and calm approach. Honey responds well to praise and is already learning the routines of their home. She is timid at first with new people and new situations, which is understandable given her past. Once she warms up and gets comfortable she is full of love and cuddles. She loves to prance around and play with her toys.

She is respectful of the other dogs in her foster home and especially loves playing with the chihuahua who is similar in size and age. We feel she would do well in a home with another friendly dog. Honey is still quite timid in new situations - she is going to need time to gain confidence and learn to trust. Another dog is comforting to Honey and she follows and learns from the other dogs in her foster home. She would likely be fine with a cat. She is okay being left alone, and will just relax on her bed (or the couch)!

Because Honey is so small and timid, no small children please. Older, dog savvy children would be ok.

Honey is not used to wearing a harness or martingale (or having them put on) and these are very important to keep her safe on her walks. She is still uneasy walking on a leash. The sounds of the city are unsettling for her. For this reason, it is essential that Honey’s adopters have a secure, fully fenced yard. It is going to take time for her to become confident walking on leash so she needs a safe place to go outdoors in the meantime. She has quickly learned to do her poo and p*e outside and will go to the door when she needs out.

Honey is spayed, microchipped and up to date on her vaccinations. She tested positive for two tick borne diseases and has been treated. We will be doing follow up blood work and dentistry in a few weeks. We will update her bio as we learn more.

If you feel you can give this very deserving dog a safe and loving home please see our website (www.adoptadogsavealife.com) for information about our adoption process and our adoption application.

Our adoption process includes an online application, a telephone interview, a home visit (in person or virtual) and a meeting with the dog. An adoption fee of $500.00 applies.

Honey is in a foster home in Toronto, ON.
***Honey’s bio may change as we learn more about her.
