More Big Thank You's going out to 4 more lovely people who took advantage of our Amazon wishlist to buy all these lovely things for our dogs in rescue.
The first photo shows 3 boxes full of lovely dog treats from Jayne Winwood 🥰.
The second is a box of misfits with a tough Nylabone sent from Carly Houston 🥰 who adopted Honey from our rescue.
The third is some lovely tug toys, a cuddly octopus, and a halti lead sent from the Lovely Lula, 🥰
The fourth is a box of h**p calming chews (we sent to Spud) from Alison Fuller. 🥰
Once again, we are eternally grateful to receive such lovely gifts for our dogs in rescue.
Some of the gifts have already been given to some of the fosters to get them wrapped up, ready for under the Christmas 🎄
We can't wait to see the photos and videos of the foster dogs opening their presents on Christmas day 😍

Our lovely boy Spud would like us to let you all know he's had his results back from his x-rays, including a second opinion (to be 100% sure) and they all came back clear. 🤜🤛
This fantastic news, means he doesn't need surgery. The vet now thinks he may have pulled a muscle, so plenty of rest is all he will need to recover.
We are so relieved for him, and once again would like to thank our lovely supporters who donated to his fundraiser to allow us to get seen so quickly.
Our next mission is to find him a forever home

We had a lovely update today from Coco's family. She was adopted back in November and already had a holiday trip to Wales last weekend, where she had a fantastic time exploring new places to walk. This weekend, she has been helping her family put the Christmas tree up 🎄 such a busy, fun filled life. It's no wonder she's sleeping in 3 of her photos ❤️

A Rescue Dog's Christmas Poem

'Tis the night before Christmas and all through the town,

every shelter is full - we are lost but not found,
Our numbers are hung on our kennels so bare,
we hope every minute that someone will care
They'll come to adopt us and give us the call,
"Come here, Bella and Buddy - come fetch your new ball!!"

But now we sit here and think of the days...
we were treated so fondly - we had cute, baby ways,
Once we were little, then we grew, and we grew -
now we're no longer young, and we're no longer new.
So out the back door we were thrown like the trash,
they reacted so quickly - why were they so rash?

We "jump on the children," "don't come when they call,"
we "bark when they leave us," climb over the wall."
We should have been neutered, we should have been spayed,
now we suffer the consequence of the errors they made.
If only they'd trained us, if only we knew...
we'd have done what they asked us and worshipped them, too.

We were left in the backyard, or worse - left to roam -
now we're tired and lonely and dont have a home.
They dropped us off here, and they kissed us goodbye...
"Maybe someone else will give you a try."
So now here we are, all confused and alone...
in a shelter with others who long for a home. 😢🐕

Once again, we are overwhelmed by the generosity of our supporters.
Huge thank you's going out to 4 more lovely people who brought items off our Amazon wishlist for our dogs in rescue.
The first 2 photo's show huge bundles of tough rope toys that will bring plenty of joy to our dogs and were sent from the lovely Katrina Obrien. 🥰
The third photo is a box of Misfits Twisters and some strong dog toys that we know our dog will enjoy. These were sent from the lovely Nobbs family and Buster, who was adopted from our rescue 🥰
The forth photo is some more very tough toys, and beef tripe stick chews from the lovely
L. Garrett 🥰
Unfortunately, the last photo that contains 2 tough dog toys came without a name slip, so we are not sure who sent them, but we are extremely grateful for them all the same. 🥰
Our rescue dogs are going to really appreciate these lovely gifts for Christmas, and we really appreciate having such wonderful supporters 🥰

THANK YOU ❤️

Meet Buddy a 2 year old Dachshund. He's a lovely boy but has a few issues. He is true to his breed and size and thinks he's a big guard dog. He barked at me till he realised I wasn't a danger, and I had treats 🤣 he approached me when he was ready and took treats from me and allowed me to stroke him. It took no time before he was comfortable with me. The other issue is his barking. This was when i first arrived, and it was him warning me he wasn't happy with me being in his home. He came round and stopped barking. He barked a few times, but I corrected him, and he listened and stopped. Both of these issues are definitely going to take training and time to correct fully, but he has so much potential. He is said to be dog friendly with a gentle introduction. He could potentially live with another dog pending successful meetings. CHILDREN OVER 12 ONLY due to his protection issues. Applications for Buddy are now open

POSITIVE COMMENTS ONLY PLEASE LETS GET BUDDY A HOME

Big Thank You goes out to 3 lovely people who took advantage of our Amazon wishlist to buy these lovely things for our dogs in rescue.
First to arrive was the cuddly toy, 2 rope balls, and a halti lead from Kirsty Wood. Next came a lovely Nylabone from Joanne Boyle, followed by a whole box of Wonky Chomp treats and rope toys from the lovely Bailey (who was adopted from us by Jennifer Coles back in January 2023).
Our dogs will really appreciate these lovely gifts on Christmas day, and we will make sure to take some over to the stray kennels 🥰

About us

Based in Coventry, West Midlands ~ Suki's Canine Rescue is a Registered Community Interest Company (8266014) set up in 2012 to help educate dog owners and promote responsible dog ownership as well as rescuing dogs out of time in the pound and taking owner relinquishment's. We also provide safe, loving foster homes for dogs whilst their owners are in the hospital, homeless or in need of any kind of respite. We rent a 0.83 acre field which enables us to train and exercise our dogs off lead prior to them being rehomed. Exercise and good mental health go hand in hand equally as much for dogs as humans. Suki's Crew are all unpaid volunteers with a passion for helping dogs in need. Most of us have worked alongside rescues before, some of us have rescue dogs ourselves and some help with training & rehabilitation so they're ready to go off to their new homes. All dogs are chipped, neutered, vaccinated, flea & worm treated and given a once over by a vet before leaving our care and going to their matched forever home. We go above and beyond to help dogs by organising searches, reuniting stray dogs, assessing, offering advice to owners who are experiencing training issues with their own dogs, saving dogs from going into pounds and dogs who are out of time in pounds, home checks, transport runs, taking care of dogs whilst their owners are in hospital, homeless & so much more. We are truly honoured to announce that we are members of ADCH, Association of Dogs & Cats Homes. Support Adoption for Pets Dog Welfare Alliance Petplan
