What is Oh Rats?

Oh Rats is a rat production and marketing business, specializing in the production and exportation of rats. This is an easy, relatively inexpensive and versatile product for diversified needs. Our product is intellectually designed with many corporations as well as keeping community members in mind. We want to ensure that all owners of carnivorous or omnivorous animals are able to afford and have access to healthy feeder rats for their animals. As stated in Best Management Practices for Feeder Rodent Production and Distribution by Scott Hardin, PIJAC Science Advisor “Without a steady supply of quality rats and mice, there would be a significant disruption in the production, distribution and health of captive reptiles in private possession as well as in zoos and museum collections. In addition, rodents are a preferred food item for birds of prey at wildlife rehabilitation facilities’, showing that there is a immense need for this type of operation (Hardin, 1). Being located in Parsons, Kansas the ability to find a pet store with affordable feeder rats is nearly impossible without driving an hour. My business allows owners to pick up the rats in Parsons. The rats are humanely euthanized and frozen, if the customer chooses to have them frozen. My business will also highly benefit local zoos, pet owners, wildlife rehabilitation facilities, and the general public as they can have the availability. I started this business to benefit my wildlife rehabilitation facility and currently use it to learn genetics as well as advise and educate others about my operation and the qualities within my business that I have learned and developed throughout the year.
