Busy weekend!

We are so thankful for the family and friends that came out yesterday to help with the heavy lifting of drywall. Big dreams can't come true without the support of family and friends! Also a shout out to my mom for cleaning up the mess in our kitchen after feeding everyone lunch and sweeping our floors. The little jobs matter also 😃

We still have a lot to do. We will not turn away any offer of helping hands or just a friendly conversation while we work. 🙃 We are out there pretty much every evening and weekend. Feel free to swing by anytime.

I do not have a timeline yet but definitely getting closer!

We worked our tails off this weekend! 😀

The whole south and west walls have insulation hung. We will finish the rest this week. Then finish hanging drywall in the front rooms and bathroom.

We are working hard to be finished with the front 1/2 of the building so I can get the grooming moved in. Then we will finish the rest of the building to get the boarding up and going.

More progress the last couple weeks!

HVAC unit is mostly installed.

Plumbing lines and all drains are installed.

More work is getting done this week. We have some guys coming to get us estimates on outside stuff so we can get that rolling after my grooming is up and running here. I am unsure on exact time line. I am hopeful to be open before school gets out. I am still waiting on state inspector to get back to me.

Getting the final touches on the top part of the firewall.

We are so very thankful for the extra hands today from our good friends Dan, Merrin, Kevin and my dad. Also thankful for my mom helping me get a meal ready to feed them all lunch.

Currently the plan is the ceiling work will start this week and the work for the septic tank. Once thatbis finished the HVac guys can come in. Then we won't freeze our butts off in here.

I am going to owe my husband many steak dinners after all the work he will be doing inside this building.

Hello, my name is Christina Leffers. I am the owner of Buddy's Hideaway. I want to tell you a little bit about who I am and why I am the person for this business.

I am the owner of Canine Clipping Creations. A dog grooming salon here in Columbus. I opened August 2011. I have been working with animals since 1998. I graduated in 2003 from Northeast in Norfolk with an associates degree in Veterinary Technology. I worked as Vet Tech until I opened my grooming salon. I have always loved working with dogs and making friendships with their humans.

We own a 3 acre property north of Platte Center. It has a 30x50 building that we are converting into a boarding facility and move my grooming salon into. One thing that will make my facility different is most of the boarding facilities in our area only offer 2 times out per day. I plan to offer 4 times out to every dog. I will also offer add on options such as mind stimulating food activities, in example: a lick matt or snuffle matt, or outside play time maybe throwing a ball or just hanging out. I will have 2 outside play yards. My current plan is to have 20 kennels with 3 different size options. 3 kennels will be large enough for multiple dogs to be together.

I currently plan to be open for business in the spring. The construction is just starting. Keep watch for the progress of the building and updates for opening! I am excited to offer this much needed service in our area!
