Our favorite rodent/reptile/avian doctor spent this past week learning more about the scales and slitheries in New Orleans at meeting.

“Riley” came to see us August Final Friday in Parkesburg

She is all recovered from her emergency spay surgery and ready to check out the action. It was great to see her!

This sweet boy presented to us in need of an emergency splenectomy, so Dr. Walsh and Dr. Tuma removed his spleen this evening. As he is waking up Dr. Walsh is giving him a mani-pedi, hopefully purple is his color of choice!

The spleen is commonly an organ in need of emergency removal, due to rupture, enlargement or cancer. Dogs can live without their spleen, they just may need some lifestyle adjustments, such as their health care routine, including regular veterinary check-ups to ensure they remain healthy. Fortunately, we can visualize the spleen with the use of ultrasound if there is any question about its vitality.

While "behind the scenes", Bree is an integral part of our daily routine, her contributions make a significant impact on all that we do. Bree has been with Pine Creek in the roll of Inventory Manager, prior she was a technician and has been known to fill in at the front desk as well!

"Dog Days of Summer" will be the theme of downtown Parkesburg's Final Friday on Aug. 30. Presented by the @parkesburg_action_committee (PAC), informational tables set up by (Canine Partners for Life) and will be present amongst live music and food.

"People can learn about volunteer opportunities, about upcoming events that we have and learn about our programs and services," explained Kirstin Downie, CPL director of development and communications.

Bring your pet and it's problem(s) to us and we will do our best to resolve the issue. Because let's face it, Veterinarians are like detectives!

This is a good day to remind everyone of our non-profit fund, Brandie's Hope, how it was established, what it does and how to donate.

Brandie was a beloved veterinary technician that worked at Pine Creek and tragically lost her life in a vehicle accident in May of 2021. We established this fund as a way to remember and honor Brandie, while helping pets in need of urgent medical care. We have helped many pets and their owners through contributions from generous donors - either directly through Veterinary Care Foundation or through the various fundraisers and open houses we hold. We appreciate the generosity of all that have, and will donate in memory of Brandie- know that your donations make a difference!

Meet “Pepper”.

We got to see this sweet boy today to check a lump under his ear ( amongst other things ). It turns out that he has quite a history in his short life! He was found in a yard, not a wild bunny but a domestic dwarf. He has a cut ear ( which you can see in the first photo ) and a flap of skin that healed incorrectly on his nose. The lump under his ear is one of many pieces of gunshot, at some point this guy was running for his life.

We are pleased to know he has a sweet family to care for him, and with a little TLC should be feeling much better soon.

We love seeing rabbits, pocket pets, rodents, reptiles and avian. Our day also consisted of a gecko, ferret, 2 chickens, kittens, dogs and cats. New patients are ALWAYS welcome at Pine Creek.

Cats are 20x more likely to be reunited if they are microchipped.
Our microchips also register a body temperature, so no more re**al themometer for your pet if it is microchipped.

We recently met "Bo", a sweet 12 y/o Pit Bull with a painful facial abscess, amongst other things. He had been shuffled from one owner to another, but now has an owner invested in his well being. The before and after is a heart warming transformation.

These types of cases make us all feel good about being in veterinary medicine! You go, Bo! And many thanks to your owner for helping you on the road to recovery.

Making our surgical patients a little more comfortable while they’re in our care. That’s what we do.

“Chloe” brought her stuffy with her for her dental procedure. “Stuffy” made his way through the procedure with “Chloe” - from the pre-op to the dental, and finally recovery.

It’s the little things, but we think they make a difference! Anything to make our patients feel more comfortable while they’re with us.

MIss Lucy makes us think about how much we've enjoyed the Paris Olympics.

What are you going to miss most about the Olympics? For me its the sportsmanship, the lifelong commitment by the athletes to a sport and the culmination of that commitment. The stories of what the athletes and their families have been through has been astonishing.

We love a happy ending, don’t you?

Meet “Murphy” & “Shay”.

These 2 appeared as strays, just when the property owner ( our client ) had an unexpected “windfall” from the Zoetis rewards program- if you’re not enrolled in this, ask us! It’s worth it.

Isn’t it funny how that happens? A windfall and then an expense….🤨💲🤷‍♀️

Anyway- these 2 came in to be checked for microchips, got cleaned up and vaccinated, and are now living their BEST life!
