It is officially less than a month away from our Diamonds are Fur-ever Gala! We are celebrating our 30th year of saving lives and second chances and WE NEED YOUR HELP to make our gala a huge success!
We still need your help with items for our silent auction. Do you have any items you love but don't necessarily want anymore? New jewelry, artwork, home decor, health and wellness items, gift certificates to your favorite places or a bottle of your favorite liquor, etc and etc. We will gladly take them! Even items that might not seem like an auction item by itself but rather placed in a themed basket would help, for instance some chocolate bars for a chocolate lover's basket or a set of garden tools for a gardener's dream basket.
If you don't have any auction items to donate perhaps you might have some supplies that we could use in the making of our auction items, like baskets, wired ribbon, paper shreds or decorative filler for the baskets, etc.
All donations can be brought to the Clear Lake Petco every Saturday during our adoption events from 10:30 to 2:30. We will be having a Wine Pull at the Gala and need donations of wine valued at $15 or more. You can drop off your donated wine bottles at our Saturday adoption events between 10:30 am and 2:30 pm at the Petco located at 2410 Bay Area Blvd, Houston, Texas 77058.

Meet Aero!
We rescued this sweet 6 month old female from a local shelter last Monday. We worked quickly with a Veterinarian to determine that her inability to use her front left leg was most likely a birth defect and should be amputated to prevent any unnecessary injuries from having to drag it around. Miss Aero bravely underwent amputation surgery last Wednesday and is now resting comfortably in her foster home and healing up for her next steps to finding a forever home!

Meet Michaela, she has been looking for her forever home since March of 2022!
Sweet Michaela was found as a young kitten and hadn’t yet been socialized toward people. Her foster mom has worked with her a lot and she will now approach her for love and attention. She needs lots of time to trust people but she loves other kitties. She tends to follow their lead and another kitty would probably help her adjust to a new home more quickly. She is super sweet and responds very well to back scratches and chin rubs :) She needs an experienced cat person to help her continue to blossom but look how sweet she is once she is comfortable with you!

Introducing.... Hopalong! This sweet boy was most likely hit by a car based on x-rays taken by a vet. His left femur is broken at both ends and completely turned sideways and his knee is not where it should be at all. We were notified about this sweet boy when a plea went out about him from a local county shelter. Basically, his leg isn't attached to his pelvis like it should be and is just dangling. He has been to two vets and will be going to a third that will amputate the bad leg soon. He is about 6 months old but only weighs a fraction of what he should. He was really struggling on the streets considering he was four pounds when impounded, not only injured but absolutely covered in fleas. Guess who is really loving being in a loving foster home with tons of love and food? This guy! He is really, really sweet and also loves to play - he is a treasure that you will want to meet! Meet Riley!
Riley was found dumped on some property with several other dogs. All dogs have since been rescued! We think she is a Mountain Cur/Boxer mix which means she is a working dog and will need lots of exercise. She is very young with bright white teeth! She went to the vet and came out all clear! She is crate trained and appears to be potty trained. She is very responsive to commands, especially "sit." Treat training is the way to go with her! She is a puppy (approx. 10-11 months) and needs consistent training. She tends to jump up on people and into laps to show her exuberant love. She is an energetic puppy desperate for love! She is good with other dogs and definitely wants to play with them- she attends doggy play time at Camp Bow Wow and loves every dog she meets! She was not bothered by New Year’s Eve fireworks. When the garage door opened accidentally at her foster home, she just trotted around and scratched at the front door to get back in - not a flight risk! She loves water and likes to play in any water she finds:)
