Brrrr! We’re in Florida🌴on the bus and although we’ve missed the deep freeze🥶 most of the country’s experiencing, it’s still been COLD... and rainy just like a classic Seattle day! Being in a big tin can on the road, I’m so much more aware of the changing weather, and seeing everyone’s snow pics has me seriously missing those crisp white mornings. ❄️

These photos from our Magnolia days take me right back to bundling up for walks to . No snow adventures for us this year, but I hear the sun is finally heading our way, south Florida style! 😎

Many moons ago (2018 to be precise), when Kat would get 10 online orders a week, she used to add a handwritten quote to each package. People liked them and, for a while, the tradition stuck...until she realized she would be spending all day writing cute cards!

Our love for cute quotes hasn’t changed and it’s been a long while since we posted one, but this one made us smile given the cold snap across that most of the country is currently experiencing. If you have any good quotes that make you laugh/smile- please share below and we’ll post our faves next week.

Happy Monday! We’re really proud to say we make everything from start to finish, by hand, in small batches in Seattle We’re going to start something new today...every Monday, we’ll give you a peek behind the scenes - from staff intros to Makery tours that show you what life is like at Austin and Kat. .

Our Makery is the heart of everything we do...most companies outsource to whoever can make it cheapest - not us. Our custom-built facility is where science meets heart, and where every formula is crafted with the same care I used when making treats for Austin. That means small batches, meticulous quality control, and a totally natural approach to pet wellness. No shortcuts, no compromises - just honest, effective supplements made with love.

But what makes A&K really stand out are the brilliantly passionate and talented team who pour their hearts into crafting the best for your furry friends. While Tim and I are exploring the country in our bus 🚌, our amazing team keeps the Makery running smoothly.

This week, say hello to our Production Manager Zach and his adorable puggle ‘It’s Bruno’ 👋 Zach keeps everything running, ensures we have the 74 ingredients we use on hand, and ensures every batch is perfect. He also champions our sustainability efforts, from sourcing eco-friendly packaging to leading our Earth Day initiatives! 🌱

It makes my heart hurt watching these California wildfires. I was just in LA and I visited so many wonderful pet stores in these communities, where you welcomed me and my pack with open arms, this feels deeply personal. Many of our retail partners and their customers are being affected right now. 💔

To our California pet family and retail partners: I see you, I’m thinking of you, and I want to help. If you’ve been impacted by the fires, please DM me. During times like these, we need to support each other, and I want to help however I can.

🎃🐾 Halloween is just around the corner, and while it’s all fun and games for us, it can be a bit overwhelming for our four-legged friends. The doorbells, costumes, and creepy noises can throw even the calmest pets for a loop. But with a little planning (and some CBD!), we can help them ride out the night with ease.
Check out our Halloween Dosing Guide to keep things smooth sailing. CBD isn’t just for Halloween night—it’s all about consistency leading up to the big event. Start early, stay steady, and you’ll have a chill, happy pet by your side all evening.
📅 October 28-30: Perfect time to try double or even triple-dosing anxious pups at 3 PM and 9 PM.
👻 October 31: Start dosing at noon and repeat every 2 hours through the evening.
Keep it simple, stay consistent, and support your pets through the weekend, too. With the right prep, Halloween can be safe, fun, and stress-free for everyone—yes, even the pups!

I’m Kat, and these are Austin, Lady Harper, Blanca, and Kingsley—our four-legged family members and the inspiration behind Austin and Kat. 🐾

I wanted to reintroduce myself and share a bit of our journey, especially since there are so many new faces here! Your support over the years means the world to us. 💛

🌱 Our Story: Austin and Kat started back in 2014 when I was looking for a natural way to support my senior dog, Brady (yep, named after that Tom Brady 🏈). Discovering CBD transformed Brady’s final years, giving him a happy, active life until he passed at 14. Austin joined us in January 2015 and quickly became my chief taste tester. Naming the company after him? A no-brainer!

🐕 The Pack Grows: Today, our crew includes our English Cream Lady Harper, sweet Blanca, and the newest member—Kingsley, a lovable rescue GSD. Together, they keep us inspired to create the best products for pets everywhere.

🚐 On the Road: Recently, my husband Tim, the dogs, and I hit the road in our converted school bus! We’re traveling across the U.S., visiting stores, meeting pet lovers, and sharing our story firsthand. 💬 Let us know where you’re located—we might just roll through your town next!

⚙️ Our Team: From Seattle to the UK 🇬🇧, we’re a small but mighty team. We oversee all aspects of production from our new, state-of-the-art facility called The Makery to ensure every product meets our high standards.

We’ve been headed back up the 101 Oregon Coast and popped in to see one of our brilliant stores . They have 2 locations both in lovely towns and I was able to reload with raw food for the dogs and they were kept occupied with cow tails while I chatted. Then we got to walk along the amazing Cannon Beach in the sun…in October! But that wind was COLD🥶

I’m now headed over to MO and for an event this weekend while Tim takes care of the dogs in Portland. 🐾

Today I’m feeling so grateful so I thought I’d share a little bit. Where to start?

With only two trade shows left this season my heart is already overflowing with happiness. If you told me 10 years ago I’d be part of this wonderful industry that brings me joy everyday I’d have told you “that’s crazy!” But here we are just 5 weeks away from our 10th anniversary and I’m literally bursting at the seams.

Getting to make a difference in our pet’s lives and ultimately a family’s life is as rewarding as it gets.

Thank you friends, thank you retail partners, thank you distributor partners and thank you to every pet parent who has trusted me over the last 10 years with your furry friends.

Cooler days, colorful leaves, and longer walks with the best company. There’s something about fall that just feels right. 🍁

It’s Kingsley’s first PNW fall, and since he’s from Texas, this is all new to him—the crisp air, the leaves, and that lovely Pacific Northwest vibe. Safe to say, he’s loving every minute of it!

Let’s make the most of the season, one cozy moment at a time.

CHILL—something I’m not naturally good at. But every day, I’m reminded that slowing down and appreciating what’s right in front of me brings amazing rewards. Dogs that are in tune with me, staff who look to me for leadership, customers who place their trust in me, and a family who counts on me.

As summer wraps up this weekend, I encourage you to take a moment to CHILL—maybe with a sunset🌅 and some great company like this. When you do, you’ll notice beautiful sunsets you didn’t even know were there.

PS. And yes, those are Kingsley’s muddy feet, he too, loves a good spa visit.

I can’t believe it’s been a week since “The Zoo.” After 10 years in this space I’m still in awe of this industry. I’ve never met a more dedicated group of people focused on giving our furry family members their very best lives.

It was so much fun connecting with all our retailers, distributors, ingredient suppliers, the PSC crew AND of course getting the time to share the floor with my team who I know at the BEST in the business.

We are going to keep at it bringing you the very best supplements for your pets. These next twelve months are going to be filled with innovation so get ready!
