A 501(c)(3) dog rescue in Jacksonville, FL focused on rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming older and senior dogs. See more at www.theolddoghouse.org.

Our intent is to rehome the older and senior dogs we rescue locally and rehabilitate. Sometimes, rehoming is not an option due to medical, behavioral, or physical issues. In these cases, the dog will remain a resident of The Old Dog House for the remainder of their life. We call these dogs 'Permanent Residents'. Every dog at The Old Dog House is viewed and treated as part of the family. We do not

have kennels, runs, or cages, rather they live in a true home environment with all of the comforts of home.

The purpose of our page: 1 - Exposure for our adoptable dogs and our organization 2 - Education on pertinent topics like senior dog health/wellness, nutrition, BSL, recalls, etc. 3 - NETWORKING!! With other rescue groups/organizations, pet pages, the public passionate about animal welfare 4 - And, FUN!! Although rescue work is very rewarding, it can be hard and very sad, so we'd like to have a little bit of fun, too!

Our Ellie said to heck with vestibular disease and kicked it to the curb!! LOL! :D We are thrilled her recovery has been so quick and complete. Says a lot about her determination and love of life! Ellie is available for adoption. She's about 13 years old, enjoys the company of other dogs, and loves people. www.theolddoghouse.org

Come see us and meet sweet Sasha! We'll be here at Pet Supermarket at Jax Beach until 2. Sashy Bear is somewhere between 10ish and 12ish, sweeter than sweet, silly once she's over her shyness, loves people, likes calm dogs, tolerates cats, and has never turned down a treat! :)

Update on sweet Ellie: Her bloodwork is pretty good for an almost 13 year old lady. :) She has a partially torn cruciate ligament in her right rear leg. Poor girl is quite arthritic in her back, hips and knees. The mass at the base of her tail is not operable because of the location. There would not be a way to close up the site, so a tail amputation would be the alternative. It's benign, so not a real concern at this point. She has a skin infection and a UTI. Also, her X-rays showed pellets along her body indicating she had been shot at some point in her life. 😞 The good news is Ellie is happy, waggy, safe, and loved. She's getting everything she needs and life is good for her now. ❤️
