What a way to end October! ☃️
Minnesota has a long and proud history of Halloween Blizzards but in the moment, they're not great. We started the day loading a truck headed to southern California. 🌴 The poor driver only had a windbreaker and couldn't get out of here fast enough once we warmed him up. Now we listen to the snowplows go by, their thundering mixed in with the radio, drills, saws, and other miscellaneous sounds that come from the shop. Work must go on!

You are holding a cup of coffee when someone comes along and bumps into you or shakes your arm, making you spill your coffee everywhere. Why did you spill the coffee?

"Because someone bumped into me!!!"

Wrong answer.

You spilled the coffee because there was coffee in your cup.

Had there been tea in the cup, you would have spilled tea.

Whatever is inside the cup is what will spill out.

Therefore, when life comes along and shakes you (which WILL happen), whatever is inside you will come out.

It's easy to fake it, until you get rattled.

So, we have to ask ourselves... “what's in my cup?"

When life gets tough, what spills over?

Joy, gratitude, peace and humility?

Anger, bitterness, victim mentality and quitting tendencies?

Life provides the cup; you choose how to fill it.

Today let's work towards filling our cups with gratitude, forgiveness, joy, words of affirmation, resilience, positivity, kindness, gentleness and love for others.

The trees may be dropping their leaves, but it's not too late to get some fall fencing projects done! This project is coming together nicely in Minnesota, all fencing materials provided by Great Oak Equine.

When the property owners came to us to finish out their barn, their priority was creating a functional space that also nurtured a safe, warm, and intuitive ambiance. ✨
When you spend more time in the barn than at home, it should offer more than utility. You’re looking at 1x6 white oak boards that have been beveled and securely anchored to the wall. For additional charm we did two rows of soldiers (top and midway) to tie into the opposite wall with Country Club Stalls. The white oak material is water resistant, insanely hard, and beautifully textured. Most importantly in a horse barn, white oak is bitter making it naturally chew resistant.

With all that said, it doesn’t have to cost an arm and a leg. The beveled white oak boards work out to less than $3/sq ft and it's a great nights and weekend project that nearly anyone can handle.

Maybe it's just us, but gosh darn these panels are pretty!
We all had to stop what we were doing (except Yael, he thought we were nuts) to admire the white oak. Before long this will be an extra tall 80' Solid Bottom Round Pen! Each panel is 8' wide, 7' tall, and weighs over 350lbs.

If you've ever wondered what the interior of our Solid Bottom Round Pens look like, here you go! The round heads of the carriage bolts give a smooth finish while holding the white oak boards firmly in place with no risk of popping out or sharp points like with screw construction.
