Cheshire & Wain cat collars are designed and made by hand in London using supple, high quality leather. Each collar is lined with a soft suede for comfort and is fastened with a solid brass buckle for durability. Please note that for the cat's safety there is a breakaway buckle incorporated that is hidden from view when the collar is worn. Collars are made in small, limited edition batches in London. “Hello, I’m Alba. I am a British Shorthair.

Some might think that we are lazy and mellow but you would be mistaken! I love zooming around and playing fetch with my spiral toy.

I am obsessed with valerian and the organic valerian cat cloud toy from Cheshire & Wain is my favourite wrestling toy.

If I am not playing, you will find me asking for my favourite treat, chicken puree from Applaws or the cheese flavoured Dreamies.

I love snoozing on my favourite chair or if I get too warm, the bathroom sink.”

We are delighted to announce Kathryn Hughes as Cheshire & Wain’s resident cat historian! Kathryn will be writing a series of guest articles for us on cat culture and history as part of our commitment to bring you interesting and varied stories about cats and the people who love them.

In Kathryn’s first exclusive article she explores famous and lesser-known ‘Cat Ladies’ from The Victorian Parlour to the Presidential Election. We are busy researching more cat tales from the past and will have signed copies of Kathryn’s bestselling book available soon! 

Catland has been flying off the shelves here at Cheshire & Wain and I was overjoyed when Kathryn agreed to write for us. There is so much to discover when it comes to the history of cats so if there are any specific topics or periods you would like Kathryn to explore next, let us know in the comments!
