DREAM BREEDERS CLUB is a legal entity created to partake in the breeding of racehorses in South Africa. It has been incorporated as a "Not For Profit" organisation with a Constitution and Club Rules, which will be managed by the Members and for the Members enjoyment and pleasure. Some Durban based DBC Members recently paid a visit to Clifton Stud in Rosetta where they were introduced to EDEN ROC & LAST WINTER. One of the joys and treasures of belonging to DBC are these visits ....... the next is to meet DECLARATIONOFPEACE at Rathmor Stud in Fort Nottingham, who is the next cover for SAMEEHA, followed by a visit in late October to meet her & much anticpated foal by DIGITAL AGE that has us all terribly excited.

Some Club Members enjoyed a visit to Clifton Stud today, their first ever visit to a Stud Farm, to see SAMEEHA up close and personal. She is now conspicuously in foal to Digital Age. Her Erik The Red c**t is a strapping young fella and approaching weaning. We were spoilt by Clifton's Christine Quinn who blessed us with a tour of the Farm to view their 2024 NYS Draft, resident sires EDEN ROC and LAST WINTER and their valued dam of MRS GERIATRIX, VELVET GLOVE.

Our broodmare interests 3rd foal and 2nd to race SAMUEL LONGSWORD by Klawervlei Stud in-form sire William Longsword steps out for his second run at Scottsville R2 tomorrow over a more suitable distance over 1200m. With Rachel Venniker his pilot we look foward to watching him run.

After the disappointment of SIGN OF FATE's first day in the big league in the Gauteng Fillies Guineas 2 weekends back, we now eagerly await the 2nd appearance of SAMEEHA's promising son by bang in-form sire William Longsword. This cross contains a number of very closely related horses of decent race performance.
SAMUEL LONGSWORD ran a very credible debut 3rd at Scottsville on December 24 over 900m, a distance well short of his expected aptitude.
SAMEEHA has a very attractive pedigree nick to sons of the infamous and influential sire from Klawervlei Stud, Captain Al.
Such a good nick that she was bred to and has a strapping c**t at foot this year to freshman sire Erik The Red, which has tongues wagging. This mating provides close-up inbreeding of Western Winter in favourable positions 3x2 bolstered by the proven success in near family between Captain Al and Western Winter lines.
Exciting news in this week is that SAMEEHA's 2022 daughter by Act OF War will be going into the auction ring at the 2024 National Yearling Sales. This mating has a number of features that should catch the eye of discerning buyers.
We are very excited for what lies ahead. The DBC doors are open to anybody-anywhere wishing to join us on our exciting breeding adventure at a cost that will be less than a good night out on the town.

It was not a good run for SIGN OF FATE yesterday that has left us disappointed but not defeated.
This is horseracing and it was a massive step up for her at level weights and at altitude.
She will will be back and we will be in her corner.

Our first broodmare interest is a 50% share in SAMEEHA (Western Winter x Blythe Spirit) generously made possible by Bruce Campbell. She has had 4 foals to date by Rafeef, Master Of My Fate, William Longsword and this year Erik The Red. Her first has never raced. Her only runner so far is by MOMF, a filly SIGN OF FATE owned by Mr Somasundram trained by Robbie Hill has a race record of 8-1-4 and due to run again in R6 on 20 December. She has just been covered by DIGITAL AGE and we are now delighted to a part of her journey toward the 2024 breeding season, when DREAM BREEDERS CLUB will own her 100%.
