Reduced to singing for my dinner AGAIN.
A few more years practice and I'll be able to talk.
Hiding under the blanket tent made by my human’s legs and singing them a little song.
Siiinging siiinging singing for my dinner!
I was just walking through the kitchen and WAIT WAIT WAIT MUM THERE’S A SNAKE THERE’S A SNAKE THERE’S A SNAKE I CAN SMELL IT LOOK AT IT LOOK THERE IT’S A SNAKE THERE’S A SNAKE MUM LOOK LOOK LOOK LOOK
(No I won’t stop barking until it’s gone. Tell me it’s just a skin Squeak found this afternoon and brought inside as much as you like I don’t care what you say IT SMELLS LIKE A SNAKE AND I AM NOT OKAY WITH THIS I DON’T CARE IF I WAKE UP THE KIDS THEY NEED TO KNOW ANYWAY AND GET OUT OF HERE!)
Dad gave me a couple of little bits of steak.
I was very gentle.
The steak made me very happy.
Me being very gentle made Dad very happy.
We are both very happy.
A few years ago, when I was a much more spritely dog, I gobbled down a lamb bone and it got stuck in my throat.
Mum and dad started driving me to the hospital. Mum drove and dad sat with me in the back “come on mate, it’ll be okay, we’re going to the vet” while I coughed, gasped and heaved [and didn’t want to go to the vet].
They looked really scared.
It was raining and dark. They were rushing hoping they would get me to the animal hospital in time.
I coughed the bone out onto the floor in the back of the car. Then I ate it again quicker than dad could get to me.
But I was okay. Indeed: it was delicious.
They turned around and took me home.
Since then, they have NEVER just let me eat a bone. They hold it. I nibble the meat off it. They let me eat a bit of the bone but I have to chew it properly.
Boring.
Here we are doing “elderly dog eats lamb.” Tops.
I REALLY LIKE THIS BALL A LOT. Just saying it’s nice. I mean, lookit it. It’s nice, isn’t it?
It would be so much nice flying through the air. Imagine.
Singing singing singing for dinner!
Throw the duck.
I get the duck.
The duck squeaks. I shake it dead.
Throw the duck.
I get the duck.
The duck still squeaks. I kill it again.
Repeat.
