It’s been one week since Amo passed. I had him pawtograph his jersey as a keepsake. You’d be proud of our bud! I miss you so so much. 💔❤️‍🩹

This morning at 8:55am, peacefully with one last snap for his favorite vet tech, Amo crossed the rainbow bridge 🐾🌈♥️ It was an honor to be with him and give him a last great weekend. Today has been a rollercoaster of emotion, I miss my friend but take comfort knowing he’s not in pain and has so many loved ones, two and four legged, to welcome him.

Thank you, everyone, for all the kind words and support. It’s not easy but it’s worth it for all the good times we had in our 11.75 years together.

Today is Amo’s last earthly day. Tomorrow at 8am we have a quality of life assessment which will result in his crossing the rainbow bridge. The past 11.75 years have meant the world to me with Amo by my side. I adopted him from after going to see another dog that had already been adopted. It was the best “mistake” to ever happen to me and it’s been an honor to share life with him for over a decade.

Thanks to I was able to complete the Pet Quality-of-Life Scale so I could have peace that I was making the right decision and be able to prepare for it. His health declined very quickly, within 3 weeks, and I have no desire to force him to live for my comfort. He was such a fierce companion and caregiver during my chemo, it’s my honor to return the favor in his final weeks.

Sending my love to all pet parents who have had to endure this transition. It’s not easy but it’s worth all of the love we’ve shared. Thanks for following Amo’s adventures and for all the loving messages we’ve received.
