The Green Heart Louisville Project, led by the University of Louisville, discovered that residents in neighborhoods with a significant increase in trees and shrubs exhibited lower levels of an inflammation blood marker compared to those in areas without additional greenery. This is crucial as chronic inflammation is associated with various health problems, such as heart disease and cancer.

The project underscores the health advantages of urban greening, indicating that boosting tree cover in neighborhoods can enhance community health.

Hey farm friends, Due to the recent rains, we're cancelling today's volunteer event. However, we are hoping to do some tasks this week to get ready for next Saturday's Mission Continues fencing project. So please reach out if you have any time during the week to help. A million thanks to the volunteers that gave their all before the rain blasted us out of the fields. Wow, what a storm, and we're so thankful for the rain! The crew was able to dig and set 16 posts for the new chicken enclosure, painted a few benches and washed out feed bags for upcycling projects. Alas, everyone had to leave before cake and ice cream could be eaten, so if you'd like to return tomorrow morning, lunch and dessert will be on us! Please let us know if you plan to attend so we can plan accordingly.

I'm fixing up some Asian coleslaw and marinated chicken legs for tomorrow's dinner. Its gonna be hot, so I'm wondering should we set up the slip and slide and the mini pool? Who's coming? If its too hot, just come for supper. We're setting up the misters today so the yard should be a cool relief.
