Prayers appreciated, especially for those fighting this fire. It is currently heading our direction. We have plans in place to make sure our dogs and our family safe are if the worst happens. Are hopeful that it won't come to that.

Quaker Run Fire in Madison County Update 6 p.m.

Today, the fire breached a spot in the containment lines and is slowly expanding into Shenandoah National Park and The Rapidan Tract of the Rapidan Wildlife Management Area. Firefighters are working hard to create new containment lines and stop the spread of the fire. The fire has now burned approximately 1,900 acres. That breach aside, large portions of the fire have been stopped by containment lines. In these areas, crews are monitoring and have begun mop-up operations. No structures have been damaged and no evacuation orders have been issued.

Shenandoah National Park has closed Graves Mill Trail and Wilhite Wagon Trail for visitor safety. The Rapidan Tract of the Rapidan Wildlife Management Area is closed for safety reasons. The fire continues to impact a wide area with smoke.

📷 Eye in the sky: in addition to water drops, helicopters offer a great vantage point for monitoring the fire's progression, especially in steep, mountainous terrain.

Our sweet and mildly mischievous Maggie has been with us for 1 year this week 🤯...but it feels like we've known her forever. Bringing this girl home just made so much sense. She has enriched our lives more than we thought possible, and I have fallen in love with this breed. She is such an awesome companion to our huskies too ❤️ happy gotcha week, Maggaroo 🥳
