The role is varied; there is definitely riding available for the right person but is not essential, exercising horses on the treadmill and around the farm, mucking out/rugging/feeding etc, dealing with foals, broodmares, yearlings and young horses, occasional cattle work! Once again not the result we had hoped for with En Francais yesterday. Despite travelling over three days prior to the race the trip takes so much out of her and she ran far below her best. We are scratching our heads a little as we know she is more than capable of featuring in these types of races!
Home for a rethink. Thanks to the team at home for keeping the ball rolling

We are pleased that En Francais has pulled up well from her run in the Sunline Stakes on Friday night - we knew that we were throwing her in at the deep end and unfortunately she didn’t have any petrol in the tank after using it all up on the trip over the day before. However the experience will have been hugely beneficial and she will be a better horse for it, and we are confident there are bigger and better things to come. 🐎

Absolutely thrilled with the tough run from En Francais today, we have a high opinion of this mare and to perform as well as she did today given a less than ideal lead up to this race validates our thoughts. Rapid Raiser steps up in trip today after a tricky preparation trying to find suitable races and tracks for him. Lachie Neindorf is a superb jockey who has won on him before so fingers crossed he can get the best out of him today. Big thanks to the team Kendall Brophy and Lucas Taylor for getting him there today and looking after everything at the farm as we are isolating with Covid 🙏 🐎

The long drive to Balaklava today with two maidens - Pierre De Lune in race 1 (1050m) and Lucasayd (1400m) in Race 3. Both geldings will benefit from the experience today, Lucasayd will eventually want much further so we hope he takes plenty from today’s run. Pierre De Lune is a smart gelding with a good turn of foot but would appreciate a bit of sting out of the ground so hopefully it isn’t too firm up there today. Good luck to connections, thank you for your patience with these two!

Thrilled to get the win with Rapid Raiser yesterday, he is a tough old boy who tries his hardest and he definitely appreciated the track which was beautifully presented. Boomer Beach has earned his retirement, we adore this horse and will be making sure he has the best life ahead of him!

We take three back to our favoured home track today, Strathalbyn. Maiden Oh No George kicks off the program in race 4 with regular rider Claudia Lions in the saddle. He is a progressive horse with a lot to learn and we expect to see him improve today. Rapid Raiser and Boomer Beach back up from last week - an unlucky 3rd for RR, we hope to see him go two better today, he is a tough gelding who deserves another win. Boomer Beach drops in class in the hope of claiming a final podium finish before a well earned retirement. Best of luck to all connections!

Three to Murray Bridge today after a quiet few weeks. Solsystem kicks off the day in race 1, he will appreciate the drop back to 1200m and hopefully his mind is on the job today. Rapid Raiser has drawn well (for a change) in race 4, he is looking and feeling well and despite a break between runs we expect him to be hitting the line well. Boomer Beach rounds off the day in race 6, stable favourite Boomer is often slow away which makes it hard to win races but a good barrier and the long straight at Gifford Hill should be advantageous today. Maiden Oh No George has his first start at Gawler today, race 2. This big Warriors Reward gelding has taken a while to mature and will take plenty from today’s run, and the 1500m first up is a question, however we hope to see him hitting the line well. Back to the races with Solsystem today, Naracoorte Race 5. One of our trickier horses, he put in a dud performance last start but a couple of gear changes and ‘fingers crossed’ he will decide he wants to partake today. We have a high opinion of this gelding so best of luck to all owners, and thanks to KLEvans Racing for taking him down there!

Rider, full or part time needed for small racing stable. Must be an experienced rider capable of riding fit and strong racehorses - we pride ourselves on producing well mannered, well educated horses and want the ideal candidate to prioritise this. Previous track work experience preferred. Riding at the track 2x weekly, at the beach and farm on other days. Full time position available if desired, otherwise happy to be flexible as long as Tuesday and Saturday mornings are covered. Competitive rates of pay for the right person.

Experienced track work rider needed ASAP for 2+ mornings a week at Strathalbyn racecourse. Must be available on Saturday mornings for 7+ horses from 7.15am onwards. Applicant must be able to ride accurate timed work and be confident riding fit, strong racehorses. Must have nice hands and a good attitude, and prior track work experience! Horses are all lovely and there is more work available at home and Goolwa beach if desired.
