I am beyond devasted and heartbroken to share that Emma passed away unexpectedly in her sleep on Saturday night. We were on a family trip in Sedona on our way to New Mexico to spend Christmas with family. She had a wonderful day on Saturday exploring the town and going on a hike. She was so happy and seemed so healthy since she got her teeth removed last month. We've been in shock since we found her yesterday morning in her bed. She looked so comfy and peaceful and we're relieved she didn't suffer but it was too soon and we're completely blindsided and unprepared.
We're going to take a couple of days to ourselves and hopefully will be back to post Quinn's Christmas morning photos later this week. Then we'll get back to sharing the last few weeks and celebrating Emma and remembering all the good times. She had an amazing holiday season filled with lots of adventures and times that we will eventually look back on and smile.
For now, we're trying to take comfort in knowing that she's reunited with Zoe and Beamer and all the others dogs she's known and loved over the years who have been waiting for her. And we're trying to figure out how to live our lives without her. She's been by my side for almost 13 years and 10 years with my fiance so it's going to take awhile to heal from this loss.
