Life gets in the way and busy takes over. It’s been a while since I shared June Bug adventures. I’m sad to share this morning that my gal crossed the rainbow 🌈 bridge yesterday. She was suddenly ill and determined yesterday morn she had a tumor on her spleen. It ruptured later in the day and had to make an immediate decision to say goodbye.
We rescued each other about 9-10 years ago. She was guessed to be about 1 1/2 yo (by dental) at that time. She was turned in to the shelter (outside Charlotte) for being “viscous” and mean to people, especially children. Nothing she actually was.
I fully believe these “children” kicked her around because her hips were a “no touch” area… old injuries from belong kicked I’m sure.
Over the years, she lost one eye, then the other. But she was a trooper and carried right on as it she still had her eyes.
She loved everybody and loved hopping in the car and going anywhere. Folks in some big stores where she was allowed knew her by name.
She accepted (kinda) her new little brother Rufus who came as a foster last year in July and never left. I may turn this into a Rufus page.
June Bug just wondered why this wild thing that’s grown to the size of a small pony come to disrupt our peaceful calm home. But they loved each other and Rufus has been looking for her this morning.
I miss her so much… last night in her spot in the bed and our morning rituals this morning.
But I smile… and count my blessings that she was mine and we had all the great years we had. We know the day we bring our new babies home this day will come. But the unconditional love from them is so worth it. Thank you for all following sling here…
Rest in peace sweet girl… till we meet again.
