7 years ago today, Bono, my dear canine friend crossed The Rainbow Bridge. While the grief has gotten easier to navigate, thanks to his urging that I become and animal communicator and because he sent me Lukas, I still cry when I think of him. In fact, I'm crying as I type this. I know he's here with me, Lukas and my other dogs in-spirit like India, Noah, Merlin, Daffy and a number of others. Sometimes, though, it never diminishes the longing to kiss that face.

In this week's episode of The Animal Communication Podcast on Mindbodyspirit.fm our special guest Psychic Medium Kerrilynn Shellhorn shared how animals make their presence known in a mediumship session. She says "...the animals will touch me and people in spirit don't necessarily touch me. And so they'll bump up against me or breathe on me and it's all very specific.So when dogs bump up against me, then I know what their size is and then I can start asking them to show me more. And they do the same structure as a person in spirit."

On a freezing, cold day in January 2003, I was on my way back to my day job when I spotted a young dog wandering around in a bad part of town. I had been moonlighting as a dog trainer for a few years and used every behavioral skill I had to coax the pup toward me for over 45 minutes. When he finally decided I was the real deal, he jumped in my car and looked at me as if to say “alright then, let’s go!” That decision led to a tightly bound relationship between me and Bono, a german shepherd mix, for the following 15 years. Today, almost 2 years since his passing, he is still by my side, as my Spirit Guide. Bono led me down the path to become an Animal Communicator and to become more connected to nature and to my spiritual self. It is in his honor that I started Spiritus Animal Communication. He and I believe that humans need to be aware of our place in nature if we are to realize our full potential and understand our place in the universe.
