This week’s feeding I got to see a bunch of tarantulas that are usually hiding. This is my Hysterocrates gigas. This African fossorial is pretty reclusive. Haven’t seen her in months. #tarantula #tarantulas #massachusettstarantulas #tarantulakeeper #tarantulakeepers #hysterocrates #hysterocratesgigas
During feedings this week I was greeted by my Ceratogyrus marshalli. Quite often she is tucked away in her hide. I’m excited to see that horn staring to develop. #tarantula #tarantulas #massachusettstarantulas #tarantulakeeper #tarantulakeepers #ceratogyrusmarshalli #ceratogyrus
I was able to get a time lapse of my Acanthoscurria geniculata molting. A lot of people ask how long does that process usually take? it can vary greatly by the age of the spider. In this instance, it took four hours to molt and an additional two hours to flip over. 🕷️Like, Share & Follow

I swear crickets are the worst part of tarantula keeping. I really try to keep them to a minimum. I usually use super worms for most of my terrestrials, but for the arboreals I use crickets. Crickets are a pain to keep alive and they stink. #tarantula #tarantulas #massachusettstarantulas #tarantulakeeper #tarantulakeepers
Phormictopus sp. full green grabbing a meal. This girl (fingers crossed) is fresh out of a molt. This was the “super molt” that Phormictopus seem to go through. What I mean there is one molt where seem to triple in size. #tarantula #tarantulas #massachusettstarantulas #tarantulakeeper #tarantulakeepers #phormictopus #phormictopusfullgreen
As a reptile or vertebrate keeper, have you ever felt the need to justify why you keep the pets that you do? Ever notice how dog keepers or cat people never have to rationalize to somebody else the reasoning for keeping that pet. In this video, I discuss some of the reasons I keep the pets that I do and my “rationale for doing so” Go check it out: https://youtu.be/hWtiT4iLRWI?si=BKNsLvSVa1NWk4r9 #tarantula #tarantulas #massachusettstarantulas #tarantulakeeper #tarantulakeepers #boaconstrictor #boaimperators #boaimperatorconstrictor #boabreeder #boabreeding #snakes #snakekeepers #reptilekeeper
One of favorite genus and species, Poecilotheria regalis. This is the first pokie I ever got, probably 5 years ago now. The black and white fractal pattern is so beautiful. The only downside is I rarely see her. My other pokies I catch out far more often. #tarantula #tarantulas #massachusettstarantulas #tarantulakeeper #tarantulakeepers #poecilotheria #poecilotheriaregalis
In the latest long form video, I discuss the decision-making process I went through and ultimately how I landed on a boa as my first pet snake. There are lots of factors to consider, and a boa constrictor might not be the best pet snake for everyone, but it worked out well for me. https://youtu.be/fJ-EyLIT4is?si=uGFJ7CrThnd3U0Xk #boaconstrictor #boaimperators #boaimperatorconstrictor #boabreeder #boabreeding #snakes #snakekeepers #reptilekeeper
Check out the YouTube video where I share some cool/interesting boa facts. Snakes are awesome and the more people learn about them the less likely they are to be scared. https://youtu.be/4zSA0GRu1wM?si=Q5LLxx0WRLb909El #boaconstrictor #boaimperators #boaimperatorconstrictor #boabreeder #boabreeding #snakes #snakekeepers #reptilekeeper
Chubbs is such an amazing animal and my buddy. Every day I come down and have my first coffee with him. We hang out as he warms up. Some days he’s up for morning playtime before I head to work. Today for breakfast was some @reptilinks and some homemade mash. #reptilekeeper #tegu #tegus #tegusofinstagram #argentinetegu #argentinetegus #argentinetegulizard #argentinetegusofinstagram #blackandwhitetegu
