I am Bridger Catfish Newman the kitten. On 5/17/17 I was thrown from off a bridge from a vehicle sp*eding over 60 mph. I was adopted by one of them.

Sammie had a good post op checkup yesterday! He even decided to type his own notes 😹 He's doing well and really ready to go back outside without supervision. We have to wait a couple weeks for his claws to get sharp again so he can properly defend himself out there!

Sammie is recovering well! Getting lots of cuddles, sleep and loving! He really likes his new fancy prescription kitty food too!

Sammie is on the way home! He preferred to sit behind Dad's shoulders and purr the whole ride home!! We're so happy and so is he!

Just heard from the doctor! Sammie is doing good and all the things in his blood that were high are getting closer to normal! He should be home within the next two days! We miss him!

I just got some celery and an update on Sammie!
Vet said everything went well with surgery, he's recovering tonight and will probably be there at least 1 more night. Thanks for all the kind words, we can't wait to get him home 😺😸😺😸

Our baby Sammie has had a rough time in the past day😿
Yesterday we noticed he was trying to p*e constantly but nothing was happening. We took him to an emergency vet yesterday afternoon. They said he was on the verge of having a urinary tract blockage because of crystals and we started taking some meds in hopes of it getting better.
Poor little guy still couldn't p*e this morning and he was hurting worse. We took him back to the emergency vet and he's now fully blocked. He's going through surgery right now. We caught it early so we're hoping for the best. The picture is from this morning before we left. He was hurting so bad he didn't want to lay in bed on his stomach. He's been ultra sweet to all the kitty nurses and docs, they all love him too. Will keep y'all updated!

We've got lots of shark teeth available for Xmas presents again this year. All teeth were found scuba diving by my dad and personally inspected by Me, Florence, Sammie and Grouper!

We've got some good news and not so good news...
Sammie is now getting along much better with everyone! He now sleeps in the people bed at night and has been dubbed "the best snuggler ever". Me and him are getting along best, Grouper just kinda tolerates him, Florence has been the most standoffish but they actually slept beside each other all night recently so lots of improvement there! We've installed a cat door on the catio. It recognizes Sammie's specific chip and only lets him go in and out. It took some training but he quickly mastered the cat door within a week. So now he can go outside and come in whenever he wants!! I'm a little jealous 😹
On another note, our longtime resident Lou passed away recently. Dad found him in the driveway at 4am on the way out for a dive trip. He was seen eating food and acting normal just a few hours before. He was found healthy with no visible injuries. The next day we found a large copperhead snake close by. We're not sure if it was the snake that got him or a sudden internal problem. We're really heartbroken and are going to miss him greatly. He was somewhere around 8 years old and was gradually getting more tolerant and tame with people. We're going to miss seeing him everyday.

Me and Sammie got to spend some time outside together today! He chased butterflies, climbed trees and chewed on pinecones....while I maintained my caloric levels nearby😹 We're all enjoying the cooler weather and getting along well!

So we went and got Sammie all checked out and vaccinated today at the vet! He checked out really good and behaved great at the vet! We got to meet today after his checkup! The meeting went well but I need a little more time, this guy is too nice to the hoomans. He's starting to come in the house some now and is getting comfortable! Things have happened so fast!😻😻

So a couple weeks ago this guy was the most feral cat ever. Not sure what changed but we couldn't be happier with our seemingly new family member Sammy!😻 Me and Sammy have been talking back and forth through the screened in windows as well!!😺😸

Released and free again! Sammy did well yesterday with his neuter and vaccination! He's a little heavier than we thought at 12 pounds and is an estimated 2 years old. We'd like to give a special thanks to Adoption First Veterinary Clinic of Jacksonville NC. They were extremely nice and informative through this process and did a great job! Unfortunately, there are NO AFFORDABLE SPAY/NEUTER PROGRAMS CURRENTLY IN Craven County NC 😿. We were so glad that my mom found Adoption First, even if it meant traveling an hour away to help little Sammy. Hopefully we'll see him again in the future. Thanks for all your support!
