Cubby had his first trip to the vet today since he arrived in his forever home in England just over a week ago.
He's lucky enough to have a patient, kind vet who gave him plenty of time to check out the clinic and him. The vet was impressed with him and his condition and smartness :-)
Cubby is now chilling back at home after starting his annual vaccinations, having only had the minimum rabies vax before he travelled, and he had his first ever claw clip! He's living the dream already :-)

I've been doing this so long now that it's hard for me to remember how old some of the cats are. It really helps when memories pop up from my google photos or Facebook.
These 2 babies are Jaidy and Shadow; this photo was from 5 years ago so this means they are in their 6th year.
Both are still here, Jaidy is potentially adoptable, but Shadow is not. They are both sterilised, at least, so they haven't produced any more kitties as I kept them contained until I could get them done.

Batman goes home 😀
For the last few weeks, I've had a guest in the cat cave that I never got around to mentioning...
I saw a post on the local Nidri group asking for help to get an injured cat to the vet. As it happened, I had plans to go the next day, so I contacted Maria who gathered up Batman from his turf at the beach area down near the church in Nidri. She kept him in at her place overnight, and I collected them both in the morning; off to the vet we went.
Batman's wound was examined and treated, and antibiotics were prescribed for ongoing home care. Given that he is a free-range beach cat, the only hope of getting his daily meds into him was to put him in the cat cave. Fortunately, he's a pretty relaxed guy, so that was doable. While we were at the vet, not wanting a chance to go by, we asked if he could be sterilised. To our great delight, he was done!
Huge thanks to Maria for paying for Batman's vet bill and to her and her partner Tomas for coming several times to visit him and fuss over him while he was here.
Today, Charli popped in and offered to take him back and release him as he's all better, so she met up with Maria and Tomas down at the beach and they made quite a fuss of him as he was liberated 😀

Niddy, a real character, was rescued in Nidri by Alice and Terry, who adopted him.
He needed some care before he could travel, so they brought him to me. I fostered him and treated him for some wounds he had and, in time, arranged his transport to England.
He's been living his best life; he's loved to bits. Today, Terry has come to the conclusion that Niddy, together with their other cat Beebee, now have more of the house than the family does.
Judging by this new toy Niddy is enjoying, I'd say that's about right 😉

Ummmm just how many kittens need to be in one pile? I can't tell where one starts and another finishes!

George has discovered the joy of sitting on soft blankets in front of the fire.
He's been doing a lot of resting since we went to the vet on Monday. He is still fighting his upper respiratory infection so he had another antibiotic injection and is on oral antibiotics and lysine as well.
He needs to get completely well before he can have vaccinations and get travel ready.

The indoor gang is snoozing after running around this morning and having a late breakfast because I slept in...
I've been very tired recently, and yesterday morning, I had dental treatment, which knocked me out for the day. I need to get into some cleaning inside because someone has toileted where they shouldn't :-(

So Richie and Natalkan bought me a selfie stick... this was my first go at using it to record my activity. I knocked it over at the end of this clip lol. Clearly I'm going to have to practise!

In a little village called Rahi in the hinterland of Nidri on the island of Lefkas in north western Greece is one of many safety nets for homeless hungry felines. Greece is full of them as well as many kind hearted folk who tend to them. This page chronicles the adventures and misadventrues and the daily lives of just one of those kitty communities.
