It has been a week. May 28th aili had her senior Labs done and her acth 30 follow up blood work. All look really good.

Tuesday June 5th. Aili had a seizure that lasted close to 5 minutes. She spent the day at the vet under observation.

No more seizures at least that we have seen. I slept on the floor with her a few nights.

She is moving slower. A little unsteady on her legs. But doing ok.

Today we took her to swim and she really perked up at that. She swam slower but wanted to keep going even when she started to visibly tire. We stayed at the pool letting her swim for about 20 of then 45 min time. She did take breaks in between retrieves.

Now she is basking in the sun as her coat continues to dry.

Tomorrow is Aili's first ACTH test to see where her cortisol level is after being on vetoryl for ten days. She is tolerating the lower dose and is doing better. A few questions I have for the vet are about her skin infection which did not totally clear up with antibiotics and if she can get a refill on her incurin.

In the picture it is Aili with her friend Ruby who came to visit for a while on Sunday.

Made Aili Daisy homemade dogfood toppers. Chicken, brown rice, sweet potato and some pumpkin. The meds might be working as she is almost back to her normal picky eater self

Sunday Aili started to have a lot of weakness and mobility issues. We skipped her vetoryl Monday am and called the vet. Aili will try a reduced dose of the cushings med starting tomorrow. The roller-coaster ride is just beginning I fear. Hoping the lower starting dose she tolerates better and it does what it needs to for her. She was a bit better by this evening.

Aili Daisy has been on her vetoryl for 2 days. So far the effects have been subtle. She resting more. Maybe a little out it. We hope this settles down as she adjusts to having less cortisol circulating in her body. She is eating, drinking and otherwise ok.

Aili had a cushings low dex suppression test. It is positive.

I've suspected her having cushings since 2021. The vet wasn't on board at that time to test her for it just because her 1 liver value was elevated. The 1st test done for cusinhing's was Jan 2023 at my insistence and was negative.

After aili battling many uti-s and a bacterial skin infection along with drinking lots of water and trying to eat any and everything( all things that started in 2021 and gradually got worse) a retest was finally agreed upon.

She starts her medication tomorrow. I know Aili will handle this with much grace as she had her cancer battles.

Day at the beach. It was cloudy but still not bad. Aili is 14 and was really acting her age.

Miss Aili went for a hike this past weekend @ middle creek. She is 14 and still likes to go. Maybe not as fast or far.
