Came home to Silverback BCA babies! 17 live, 1 still, 1 slug. Mom dropped a bit early (99 days after POS), but they're all doing great!

Pairing was my Miller-line female x Terry-line male. Some of the kiddos have awesome reduced patterns, a big weakness of mine 😉

Four adorable O.t. ridleyi hatched out this week! 😍 I love these wiggly little worms, they have such personality right out of the egg. One of my personal favorites!

I tried something different this year, and let Mom incubate her eggs. She did a fantastic job! Babies pipped at ~74 days.

Here's someone I should share more often: this is Lumpy, a BCL born here in 2021. She has some prominent spinal kinks and bone deformities, resulting in an unusually squat appearance (she is much smaller - and thicker - than a healthy sister I held back).

I had debated culling her at birth, but she was so lively and strong, I figured I'd give her a fighting chance so long as she maintained a good quality of life. Today, even though she looks a little funny, she is just as bright and active as any other longi - she has full range of motion (except for the very tip of her tail), and even likes to climb and perch (though she's not the most elegant about it!).

Hard to believe these kids are almost a year old! I just love their colorations and patterns, some gorgeous tail stripes...
