Up North Pet Taxi: Confirmed to have space for the CO stop to pick up, but since this weekend is her daughter's wedding she is just really focused on family stuff, so for those who have not heard back from her that is why. I am realizing the downfall of having so many listed at once is that the comment area for some of these guys are getting buried, This is Themisto judging everyone for not bidding for him.
I can't say I am super surprised that the BEWs have no bids but since there are not many people working with show BEW, but I am pretty shocked that Bowser doesn't have any interest yet! Anyone doing BEW, take a look! Other surprising ones are OJ, Noodle, and Donphan! I can't believe these beauties have no interest yet. Even Wobbuffet, but I saw the pictures so I kind of get that one 🤣 she is nicer hands on by far.

Make sure you are looking at the comment section with it set to "ALL" and not "Most relevant" or it only gives you the ones with the most bids. Check out these hidden gems, especially OJ!

(MOD) A U C T I O N

I always hate having to go back and forth between profiles and lot numbers on these things so I will use names but no details instead of lot numbers or other info. The post with all the info has been up for everyone to see so make sure you write down the names on what you are wanting to bid on.

I am NOT doing RESERVES and will instead do a minimum bid of $50 for some and $100 for others. If it has a $100 minimum bid then I personally think they are worth way more. If they have a minimum bid of $50 then they have something to offer, but I wouldn't consider their type to be show worthy overall. Rather than just do it based on showable colors alone. It makes sense in my head 😂 I hope that translates to how they get posted. The Minimum bid is listed with their names.

This isn't a money grab for me, this is just a way to move these guys on so I can get a break. My pain levels have been inhibitive to say the least and between my internal drama and the drama in the rabbi t world I need a break and soon. So that being said, we will have a BUY NOW price of FIVE HUNDRED. I was considering going through and modifying that for each of them, but I have had nonstop tech issues and I’m just over it 😆 so the rest who arent worth that price can be sorted out with bidding and y’all can just pick your prices. Once someone bids FIVE HUNDRED on any, that's it and bidding is closed for that one, it is sold.

Outside of that, same rules as every other Auction out there, bid ONLY with emoji numbers or spelling out the word.

TRANSPORT: Make sure you have transport planned BEFORE bidding because final payment is due within 24 hours of close and is not refundable. Transport must be coming to Pueblo, Colorado to pick up within 30 days unless otherwise approved. Up North Pet Taxi is coming through in her Oct run, it doesn't say Pueblo on the schedule but just look at the day that says Denver, I have already spoken to her, she is just busy with family stuff and will change it when she changes it. I trust Jen to follow through. KD farms has dropped their convention route altogether so that is no longer an option, but I have Earn Respect coming through soon so that is an option for sure as well. I have been talking to one other transporter about coming through and am just waiting to hear back from them and when its confirmed that they will be coming here I will share who that is.

If you have issues throughout the day just let me know, I will be home but may nap here and there since my schedule is the worst. My number is on the website on every page on the bottom so if something is urgent that needs to be addressed just call me and wake me up if I dont respond to messages or text right away. I set the whole day aside for this so its not a bother. I will be checking on things often though for sure. I have never done anything like this before so i expect some troubleshooting.

Always make sure to change the comment filter from “most relevent” to “all” so you can see every bid.

My plan is opening comments for bids at 0600 (6am) MDT and keeping it open until 2000 (8pm) MDT (we are in Colorado if you need to google it).

I see that a lot of people do a 5 minute rule where if a bid comes in at the end anyone has 5 minutes to respond to the bid with their own, so that seems like a good rule and I will stick with that. Nothing above the max of FIVE HUNDRED will count though so bidding wars at the end within reason I guess 😂

COLOR PROJECT NOTE:
If it has vienna in it, it doesn't have chocolate or sable in it and anything in the BEW project is clearly labeled. If it has chocolate gene at all it is clearly labeled as chocolate project.

I hope everyone has a good time with this bizarre new experience and that everyone who wants something is able to get something. Thank you to everyone for the kind words through this, it's been a lot, but I know this is the right thing for this chapter of my life.

As much as I hate doing this on Facebook, I am thinking this may be the most accessible way for people to see, so I am going to use this post to put the preview pictures up. I'm going to turn off commenting so it doesn't get confusing but in the comments under this post you will find everything listed for the modified auction.

ANOTHER UPDATE: I got some additional pics posted on a lot of them, but I still have a long way to go and will try to hit it again this evening and have everything up before A uction goes live. I am thinking I should unlock at 0600 and then run through 8pm (MST) that way people should have time before/after work regardless of their shift.

UPDATE AFTER REDOING EVERYTHING: Well technology was against me every step of the way, but it's done. Here is the basics for everyone and I will work on grabbing those last few weights and hopefully add more pictures tomorrow afternoon. To see all of the ones listed make sure your settings for comments is set to ALL (and not just most relevant, which seems to be default now) and then check the replies to the pictures for more info. If there is anything huge I overlooked LMK but it is time for 😴 now.

Sorry for radio silence but I have been non-stop working on getting this modified auction prepped. My goal of having the rabbits posted tonight was a bit ambitious, but it should still be up by early morning. So in the meantime enjoy this quick look at one handsome young senior buck.

Still going through bunnies but so far I have a list of 30+ who are getting cut. In the meantime I have been trying to work out a timeline and an overall plan and here is what I am thinking:
#1) I am seeing that people tend to feel similar things about auctions as I do, so I am considering doing a modified auction. I personally HATE hidden reserves. So instead of that, I would plan to do a minimum bid, which for non-show quality would be $50 and for Show quality would be $100. If that is the only bid, then that is what they will go for. I also hear everyone who is saying they don't want to deal with prices being driven up so I think putting a BUY NOW price is a good option. I know at least a couple GCs will be getting listed so I am thinking of putting the cap at $500 just as a standard and then anyone who bids the $500 regardless of when the auction would normally end, would just have the winning bid and that one would be done, no longer available in the auction. This allows for the rest available in the auction to have more of a pick your price style of sale and I expect that many will be going for less than I would normally price them for, allowing people to get what they need for their color projects and me to be able to move them on quickly, which is what I need right now so win-win I think.
#2) I am thinking about letting the Dutch go in a project together instead of separately allowing for a better group price for someone wanting to get into show Dutch. Is there anyone who would really like to see them go seperately? Its one buck and 4 does all show quality -assuming no one developed a freckle I didnt notice (plus one baby doe who appears to be show quality but she is only about 3-4 weeks old right now so I dont know if I should add her since that will alter transport options)
#3) Transport. If you plan to bid/buy please know what transport you plan to use before THURSDAY. I know that Up North Pet Taxi will be stopping by when she comes through Colorado before convention and that Earn Respect is planning to come pick up one rabbit from me already on their upcoming route, but I am not familiar with where they are going after me. I am hearing some back and forth on whether KD farms will be keeping Colorado on his convention run, so if you want him to you gotta let him know ASAP before the run gets finalized. If you have other transporters you know have upcoming runs through Pueblo, Colorado that you may want to use let me know now so I can pre-screen and approve them. The last thing I want is for the winning bidder to expect me to hold their bun for months. I would like them on transport by the end of October if possible.
#4) TIMELINE: my plan is to take the day off Thursday and have this modified auction going all day so I can respond and troubleshoot and be available through it. My goal is to have previews/pictures and if i can figure it out videos too, of everyone posted somewhere by Tuesday. That way people have a bit of time to decide what they want to do before the actual sale starts.

I am flexible on everything but THURSDAY being the day for this, so if anyone has ideas I am open to them but I need this to be a one day thing and not something dragged out. I hope this all makes sense but for now I need to head out and make the second wave of cuts, when i come back in I will read comments and see how people feel about these ideas and make changes if needed, but I think this sounds like a good start to me.

I have decided to make more cuts, including entire projects which will be grouped together when listed. I think i may have some red line does going as well and I know a lot of people were hoping for those cuts, so expect them. Working on sorting it all out right now, but honestly the negativity in the rabbit world is getting to me so I am going to making some cuts that may shock people because i really need to step back for a while and step away from the negativity that comes with breeding rabbits. I want to do things very small scale for a while I avoid social media and all the drama and the trash talking and the incredibly negative people who baffle me with their inability to be happy while playing with these fluffy adorable creatures. I didnt even go to the last show here because the one before was so negative (including a horrible trash talking judge who had people leaving and refusing to go back to even put their rabbits on the table, so I know I wasnt the only person he frustrated). I need a break. Rabbits are my happy place and right now they are not feeling like that. I love to show and I could not be more grateful for the friends I have made through this, but overall this year has been a very rough experience. I think placing 4th at convention last year definitely got me some unwanted attention from very negative people and I am just over it. So thats my rambling, but all that being said, I cannot imagine my life without rabbits in it and I do still intend to breed on a very small scale, but I will be letting go of most of my rabbits right now and stepping back from social media for a while. I can't give any type of time frame for this, but I think this is really what I need. As I go through the herd today I will update plans for each project throughout the day and hopefully have a good idea of where I want to be with them by this evening.
I am considering an auction and would like to know how people feel about that. I would NOT have hidden reserves.

RLR's Articuno is a young senior buck who had gone elsewhere for a while, but made his way back here. I spent time today trying to get some does bred and dealing with my lazy bucks and unreceptive does was a bit disheartening, until I got to Articuno... This boy who has been in quarantine since he got back has not had the chance to be bred yet here so I had no idea what to expect. He tied NINE times in about 15 minutes. So he is going by Magic Mike now.

I have worked hard this week to get the website updated with everything ready to go. I am on track to have bunnies posted by Saturday (tomorrow) evening. Jen from Up North Pet Taxi has added me to her Convention route when she comes to Colorado and then she is heading back up north and east to Convention in KY. Kevin from KD farms has me on his stop list before he heads out to Convention as well just in case anyone wants to try to get a jump on finding transport. I am finishing up adding pictures and info today for everything but the orange project, so once we go through those tomorrow afternoon, I will finish up and publish the site. I know people are always asking for cream and it is possible I will have one listed, but I won't know until tomorrow since he is part of the orange project. I have been asked a lot about colors, so for Hollands, yes to Tricolor, Vienna project and a few from the self/otter project including a blue, and one Chocolate carrier (non-vienna obviously). I will also have one Dutch getting listed. Those are the ones I know for sure. I don't expect to post anything from the red project and no Himilayans for sure. Hope this helps to answer some questions!

Time for a rant! Ok guys, I have raised rabbits and dogs for a long time and recently make the jump into snakes as well, which means here on Facebook, my feed is full of posts from various animal groups and the one thing that is consistent between all of these various species groups is that people are MEAN!!! I was just in one of the snake groups and there was a very unhappy noodle in an enclosure that was too small and had some obvious deficiencies and the comment section was so full of hate and anger! I want to take a minute to talk about this. For those who don't know me personally, I want to share that I am a Psych Nurse. I have dedicated my adult life to being there for people who the world has written off as hopeless. Teaching is a huge part of my job and a passion of mine. I am the person who questions everything and if someone says something to me I don't understand, you can bet I will be researching that thing pretty much immediately. I love to learn and a big topic for me is the human brain.
My point is this; there are TONS of studies out there about the human brain and some amazing ones about knowledge retention so I want to share one single bit of information that can change your life if you let it. The brain learns in a relaxed state. Thats when knowledge retention is specific and that knowledge can be used in a beneficial way. In an emotional state, the brain can't retain information properly and the IQ actually drops. So when someone is being yelled at, or scolded or otherwise made to feel attacked, the brain seems to retain the feeling of the situation and exclude the things said. So next time you are frustrated with something someone else is doing with their animals, take the time to think about my absolute favorite DBT skill of Right vs Effective. For example, if you are upset by someone keeping their rabbit in a tiny cage they cant even lay out in that is so filthy you can pretty much smell the picture, you could choose to say the first thing that comes to your mind while you are emotionally reacting to this thing that should not be happening, but if you do you will almost certainly fail to effect the change you want to see for that animal. Will you be right that it shouldnt be in those conditions? Yes of course, but will your response benefit that animal? The answer is likely no, because when someone gets a barrage of angry comments on their post, they will typically either get defensive and dig their heels in or they will retreat and never ask for help again. The reason for that response is because it is how the human brain is hardwired. That is the fight or flight response in action and study after study has shown that while in that state, specifics of new knowledge cannot be retained. The most likely thing for someone in that state to learn, is that the person talking to them is an AH. Thats it. Thats all the brain can typically file away for later. Does that help the animal? Probably not. It probably does more harm than good. So please, next time you see something that bothers you online, take a minute and think about Right vs Effective. Think about what it would take to help this person learn and do right by these animals. For the most part I have found that people are just doing the best they can with the information they have. So give the information but please do it gently.

Random Special Opportunity:

I would rather not pose these adult rabbits who have never been posed before. My BEW line in general sucks, i have 2 that are show worthy and they are staying here, so everyone i want to move on is UGLY, but this presents a special opportunity because I will be posing these very ugly BEW does as mini lops for the sake of my sanity and everyone can just trust me that their bone sucks because it does, and I will let them go for a great 🔖and bred to either GC Phoenix/Blue Flame's Bear (a vienna carrier chestnut) or Pixel Perfect's Bowser, a FD but very nice VM Orange buck. I will expose them multiple times to try to ensure these boys genes will get out there (both bucks are proven already and all but one of the does I post will also be proven). I am going to do this because I have a very small BEW project and I want these boys genes out there for people who are looking for Chocolate free vienna lines. There is not enough of them out there and its something that really bothers me, so in an attempt to make that happen and also ensure i dont have to pose these ugly does for hours trying to get a picture, I am going to give this one time opportunity for people trying to take a serious step into showing BEW holland lops. Lets get you the gene and hopefully some babies out of Bear or Bowser to really get people going in the right direction! We need a bigger network of show BEW breeders!

I have made it through most of the rabbits and have a pretty good idea of who will be moving on. Now i just have to take the time to get pictures. There will be several from the BEW project and i am dreading taking pictures of them because i mostly don't even pose that project lol. Im hoping to have everything posted by the end of next weekend (28/29th)
