Alaska is such a love! She is beautiful and very drawn to her humans who she showers with love. Yet her favorite thing in the whole wide world is her toy ball! She sleeps with it and when the gate to her enclosure had a gap at the corner, she would take her ball and nudge it out the gap so we could throw it back in, which we would do about a dozen times throughout the walking day. It was pretty funny! Though she is deaf, she is hyper alert, as most deaf dogs are, and notices EVERYTHING! In fact, you better see the lizard before she does and have a mighty good grip, at that! If you are interested in Alaska, please go to our "Adopt a Dog" link at dalrescuesocal.com and read up on this special little girl!

A dog I added to my rescue walks from our sister rescue deserves celebration here! FYI--This is worth reading to the end. Clifford, the little red dog from Mutts in Need, who was adopted 2 weeks ago, was highly intelligent and even more annoying, at least, when I was pulling my tri-pack from the kennel's front yard. He would escape every time I opened that damned gate and run around like the devil when as I tried returning him to his enclosure. In fact, he nipped me more than once, determined to get time with us humans! In time, I got strategic about pulling my crew all due to him! His adopted family wrote Mutts in Need yesterday. "OMG--so Clifford is a hero...yesterday morning, he ran into my office. where I work from home and barked sharply at me, which felt unusual for him. I asked what he was barking at and he did it again, and tapped his little feet around. I stood up and when I did, he ran out of the room and I followed him into my mother-in-law's bedroom. He ran over to her on the bed and laid next to her, and she was having a seizure and I called 911. Without him, I wouldn't have checked on her for another hour or so. She's in the hospital now, but he might have saved her life!" Might've? Think he done good!

Savannah Banana is a Dalmatian/Lab mix who is full of personality and energy. She's about 3 years old and came to us from the Coachella Valley shelter with her sister, Juno. Savannah is a fun-loving dog who gets along with male dogs, in particular. She's good on leash, though could use a little training. Walkers say she has a great disposition and is always so happy to be with her humans! If you are interested in a dog who would love you to pieces, check Savannah out at dalrescuesocal.com

Patch is an active, hard-playing Dalmatian Mix disguised as a chill, low-key, sweetie-pie! He plays so hard in the back, running after balls and K-9 buds, that he's prone to hitting walls full speed yet keeps on tickin'!!! Patch was surrendered to us by his family when they had to move. Patch is so good-natured. It goes without saying that he gets along with other dogs. While looks a bit rough around the edges (we believe he was an outdoor dog prior to his arrival at our kennel) and from his hard-playing ways, it's nothing a little TLC can't fix! Everyone adores this boy and hope there's someone out there in need of a dog who will love you till the moon and back! Check him out at dalrescuesocal.com

COURTESY POST. I am posting for a kennel neighbor who acquired 2 pitbull puppies last month and needs to find homes for them. The pups are growing fast and couldn't be cuter! Yesterday, I watched him work in his gated yard and the pups followed him everywhere, tripping over themselves, and making all sorts of nonsense (all in good fun)! If you are seriously interested in one or both pups, contact Gary at 714/444-4729.

Nick and Rudy arrived at the kennel with their siblings. Their sisters were less attached to the pack so were adopted soon after arriving at our kennel. These boys remain as a bonded pair who need a home together. They are Doberman mixes and simply gorgeous! They love their walks with their favorite walkers though are quite skittish with strangers, at first. Once they warm up they will shower you with kisses as they do with me every time I leash them up for their walk, which is my favorite part of the day! If you're interested check out dalrescuesocal.com

Cookie arrived at our kennel with another gorgeous Husky, Lenny, who lives with Margaret up in Santa Barbara. Cookie is a husky with attitude which may sound like an oxymoron! She has personality to spare and doesn't suffer fools gladly! At leash up time, she bounds into the area ready-to-go yet still plays a little game making us try to get her and once gotten, ducks her head so we can't connect the control collar with ease! Once leashed you better have a good grip because she might be in a mood to take you for a walk instead! Most walkers say she's 90% easy to handle but quirky!! If you are interested in Cookie check out dalrescuesocal.com

Daisy and her litter of 6 were rescued from the streets of Mexico. Recently, 2 were diagnosed with distemper and one of them has died. Joey is holding on by a thread, separated from the others, but seems to be improving gradually. He will need vet care until he is out of the woods. If you are able to donate to help Joey, please visit our website at dalrescuesocal.com.

We recently rescued a Dal mix mom, Daisy, and her litter of 6 that came in from Mexico. Two of the pups were/are diagnosed with distemper which has been absolutely heart-breaking! One died last week and the other, Joey, is holding on by a thread, though today it appears he may make it through. Joey will need on-going vet care until he is out of the woods. If you are able to donate to help him, please log onto our website at dalrescuesocal.com.
