One morning I spotted a little grey mouse who slipped under our fridge. In horror we tried everything to dispose of, as it turned out, the world’s smartest mouse. He/she escaped every trap taking off with whatever bait we tried to use!
Seemed only a cat could deal with Ralph.
Our first plan was to borrow a cat. However, Simon had such bad allergies we were very skeptical he could have a cat around. That’s when I starting researching hypo-allergenic cats. To my amazement they existed! When we discovered the Siberian Forest Cat we were totally smitten. However, we had to test whether or not the claims of hypo-allergenic would stand up to Simon’s allergies.
It was on Valentine’s 2017, when Ulita came into our lives. It had been years since the passing of our wonderful Russian wolfhounds (Borzoi), Petrushka, Krylatka, Zanoza and Ataman. They had been the focus of our lives for nearly 20 years. When we lost them everything changed. We both became terribly ill and almost lost our lives. Mine was a serious battle with both big “C” and little “c” - cancer and hepatitis C. That’s another story that is found on my page, “Conquering Cancer, One thought At A Time”.
Little did we know that cats would change our lives so dramatically. My illnesses had resulted in heart problems which Ulita seemed to recognize immediately. The benefit of that sweet little kitty massaging my heart (changing my heart beat to match her purring) has been simply amazing. What a bonus!
Simon has never had an allergy attack with the Siberians. He can let them rub all over him, sleep with him and even try to eat with him. It’s all ALLERGY FREE! What a wonderful experience for him! The joy of a cat showing you affection is simply something you have to experience to know.
Beautiful Sissy came to us directly from Moscow Russia, hand delivered by the internationally famous breeder, Nina Komarova. She arrived, Easter 2018! What a beautiful girl, our Sissy is. Never have you ever felt such a coat (angora). Her confirmation to standard is simply excellent! Her nature is simply incredibly sweet and loving. She is as gentle as can be. This kitty is a real tribute to Nina’s breeding. Her parents are international champions and her early upbringing has made her a dream cat! She just turned 1 on December 23rd and she is already bigger than 2 1/4 year old Ulita!
On the other hand, Ulita, a Canadian girl, is quite feisty! She is clearly Queen of the Block (alpha female). When she’s out on her lead she chases the neighbourhood cats home and stands on guard by their cat door to ensure they stay in their houses. Then she takes up residence on their steps just plain mocking them.
We hope to keep all of you enthralled with the antics of these two fun loving girls. We are excited about the upcoming arrival of our King! He will be coming to us in January, 2019 directly from Moscow Russia. Please stay tuned for updates! Thanks for your interest!
