Received awesome feedback from a client yesterday. She owns a cute little white Persian who came from a hoarding situation, named Cosmo. Sorry, I forgot to get a photo. I am honored I am trusted with little Cosmo's care.

"Sandra is incredibly passionate, thoughtful and kind. She’s knowledgeable and always suggests what’s best for the cats. She always does such a wonderful job and I look forward to Cosmo going back to her" A.C. Rochester, NY

Back in 2020, I owned a mobile pet spa in the Albany area. I sold that business in 2021 and moved here. Today I received this message from an old client. Almost 4 years later she wanted to let me know how much she appreciated my work. She made my day.

Here is what she wrote...

"You did a lion cut on our boy during covid. I wanted to tell you that, while we did find someone else to lion cut him each spring, no one has ever been able to match the gorgeous, gorgeous work you did on him that year.

I have shared this picture so many times since then, and people always comment on his boots! I've come to realize, too, that shaving him so evenly is a skill that not all groomers have - the groom you gave him was truly stellar! 😻

So I just wanted to thank you again for your excellent work. Even if I can't find anyone to replicate it, at least I have this picture to swoon over!

I hope all is well with you!

great tip!

There are effective and ineffective ways to keep your cat off the kitchen counter. The ineffective way is to use punishment by squirting with water, yelling, smacking, or grabbing your cat. Your cat will quickly learn to just wait until you aren't around.. Punishment also damages the bond you share and can create fear. The first step is to understand what attracts your cat to the counter because that will play a role in creating a better option.

Hey all...look at this sweet guy. Available for adoption from a hoarding situation. We have groomed a few from this rescue already. All very sweet kitties.

I can help with grooming and teach you how to maintain that coat.

If I didn't already have a full house, I would apply.

I have a few things available for retail.
I ordered a few combs and nail clippers to help clients maintain their kitties at home.
Some teasers and a fun toy as a reward for being good at their grooming.
And for the flat-faced cats that get water all over them and make a mess of themselves, I have 2 ceramic waterers.

I actually use these waterers for my own Persians and Exotic.

These are hard to find so reach out if you want to reserve one.

Such great news for all of us who own pets in the area.

Next week is Valentine’s Day and the U.S. alone is estimated to spend over $2 billion on flowers, many of which can be seriously toxic to our cats and dogs. Before you buy that beautiful bouquet for someone with pets, stop and check that you’re not accidentally gifting them something dangerous – their pets will thank you for it!

If you suspect that your pet has ingested a toxic plant, contact ASPCA's 24-hour Poison Control line (888) 426-4435. A consultation fee may apply.

(Kitten Angels is aware that there are many more toxic plants and flowers than are mentioned here. These are some of them that are sent in bouquets of flowers or are available in the marketplace for purchase. If you are unsure of what to give, look up the flowers first and then decide whether or not to give them to a pet parent.)

Neutering or spaying your cat is not only about overpopulation and reducing unwanted litters. Did you know it can also have an important impact on health and behavior? Here’s a list of just some of the benefits: It greatly reduces the chance of spray-marking in both males and females. Make no mist...

This is why spaying and neutering is important to prevent unwanted kittens.

My Story

You must love what you do when you have been doing it as long as I have. I love cats...I have always loved cats. I currently foster Momma Cats and babies for a local rescue. Dogs were always a huge part of my life, but working with the rescue has opened my eyes to the needs of the cats of the world. Cats need grooming. They do not groom themselves. I have groomed cats all my career, but never with the quality I do my dog clients. I have taken steps to rectify that. I am learning show quality cat grooming to offer to the cats of Albany County.

UPDATE 9/19....I completed my certification for cat grooming and can proudly say I am the areas first Certified Feline Master Groomer (CFMG), through the National Cat Groomers Institute. It was a difficult 2 year journey and I am very proud of this accomplishment and what I can bring to the cats in the Albany area.

Education is key because most cat owners are unaware of what the needs are of the kitty in their household. I am here to help. My state of the art mobile grooming salon will come to your home and solve the matting, shedding, smelly cat problems, with the least amount of stress and discomfort as possible for all involved. Go to my website for more info and service menu.
