Today, we pause to remember and honour all those who served โ the brave men, women, and animals who stood side by side through times of war. ๐บ
Cats, too, played their part in both World Wars. They were highly valued for controlling rats and mice in trenches, barracks, and on ships โ helping to prevent the spread of disease and protect vital food supplies. ๐ฑโจ
In the First World War alone, the British Army reportedly employed over 500,000 cats for this purpose. Many units even adopted them as mascots, bringing comfort, companionship, and a touch of home to soldiers far from theirs. ๐
At ๐๐๐บ๐ฏ๐น๐ฒ๐ ๐๐ผ๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ฑ๐ถ๐ป๐ด ๐๐ฎ๐๐๐ฒ๐ฟ๐, we remember them all โ human and animal alike โ for their courage, loyalty, and the comfort they brought in the darkest of times.
We will remember them. ๐บ
