“Lightfoot” pictured here in his poor pathetic state is LAPAW’s latest boy in need. He’s under the care of Dr. Stelly at University Animal Clinic. 🙏🏻 Lots of IV fluids and a feeding tube are currently saving his little life. This is an expense of at least $960.

The neighbors thought we ordered new appliances but this is just a much needed & equally appreciated giant helping of generosity for LAPAW cats and kittens alike! 🖤🐾

Handing off free kittens may be getting rid of your immediate problem, but you're literally handing off the problem to someone else. 😞

When people call us for help with spay and neuter, this is one of the most common reasons:

"We rescued this kitten from a lady to help her out, but we really can't afford to get her fixed."

At least they called, MOST do not. 😢
If you TRULY care about cats and kittens and the well-being of them all, you will stop and think before handing off free kittens to the first person who contacts you. And you will spay the mom cat ASAP. ✅ You can safely rehome kittens yourself with an adoption process, but I would encourage you to reach out to a shelter or rescue for guidance on how to do that correctly.

We all need to be aware of the bigger picture and work together to MAKE SURE these mom cats and kittens are all getting fixed before landing in a home. It is not the new owner's responsibility. It is not the old owner's responsibility. It's not a volunteer organization's responsibility.

‼️ It is EVERYONE's responsibility to make sure spay/neuter happens ‼️

Again * ** ***Attention Houston area*** ** * URGENT Courtesy post—help us spread the word please!!!!!! Your engagement on this post (likes comments and shares) provides reach to a larger audience and is very appreciated!

Need rescue or foster for this momma and four babies (about 16 weeks) rescued from the streets—they’ve been provided food and shelter and entertainment for months and time is almost up. Rental tenant who is trying to save them moves this week. Funds have been donated for their spay and neuter. Help can be provided to transport to appointments for such.

Please help us spread the word so they’re not back on the streets in this heat, forced to live a life no companion animal should. They’re not at all feral, just homeless. Cute as can be and stereotypically curious.
