PSA- Cocoa Mulch, which is sold by Home Depot, Foreman's Garden Supply and other Garden supply stores, contains a lethal ingredient called "Theobromine".

It is lethal to dogs and cats. It smells like chocolate and it really attracts dogs. They will ingest this stuff and die. Several deaths already occurred in the last 2-3 weeks. Just a word of caution — check what you are using in your gardens and be aware of what your gardeners are using in your gardens.

Theobromine is the ingredient that is used to make all chocolate — especially dark or baker's chocolate — which is toxic to dogs.

Cocoa bean shells contain potentially toxic quantities of theobromine, a xanthine compound similar in effects to caffeine and theophylline. A dog that ingested a lethal quantity of garden mulch made from cacao bean shells developed severe convulsions and died 17 hours later. Analysis of the stomach contents and the ingested cacao bean shells revealed the presence of lethal amounts of theobromine.

PLEASE SHARE! 🚨 The search for Trixxie’s foster home (or forever home) continues.

Trixxie has sadly been in our care for 103 days. Although a forever home would be ideal, at this time we are hoping to find Trixxie a temporary foster home to help get a break from the shelter environment. This once happy-go-lucky gal is breaking our hearts as she has shown our team that she is losing her “oomph”.

Trixxie is looking for a special home with no other animals, as she is very dog selective and noted to have a high prey drive. She is incredibly smart, loving, and loyal to her humans however. She loves to go on adventures, play wrestle and wrap her paws around you to give you unlimited kisses.

While in foster, we provide everything she requires including but not limited to food, beds, toys, leashes, dishes, etc. All costs are covered by the TBDHS and we provide ongoing veterinary care if required.

DIXIE IS MISSING FROM COCHRANE, Alberta
PLEASE HELP DIXIE GET HOME!
Dixie is missing and deeply missed by her family. She is a 3-year-old, spayed Maremma (this breed looks similar to a Great Pyrenees but smaller).
As of November 27, 2023, she is missing from Cochrane, Alberta. Dixie could be anywhere as she was stolen and her AirTag was manually removed by a human and discarded on the side of the highway just 15 minutes from her home.
