We got a message from a donor yesterday saying that of all the ministries and nonprofits they give to, we stand out. She said that they see the “spark, energy, and love” we have for what we do and are amazed at how authentically and personally we engage with those who join us.

As we recall and reflect on all the ways we got to care for children and their grownups in 2024, may our spark, energy, and love for what we get to do shine bright. Every number shown here reflects real people and real stories that we got to be part of in small and not-so-small ways. What a privilege it has been! Each of us are on the edge of our seats as we look forward to 2025!

Good things are coming.

Hi. It’s Banks, and I’ve got snow nose. My nose is a little lighter than it normally is, and I’m a little sensitive about looking different and getting attention about it. Mom says my nose is normal for dogs like me, but she also says it’s normal to feel a little anxious inside about the change. Do you ever feel anxious about the way you look and how people respond to it?

It’s the morning after Giving Tuesday! As we work on adding up all the Giving Tuesday giving, we wanted to post a “last call” for our Giving Tuesday giveaway.

Everyone who gives a Giving Tuesday donation of $100 or more gets a chance to win a Spa Getaway Package at Bear Creek Mountain Resort which includes a Spring/Summer overnight stay for two in a King suite, $200 to use at the spa on location, and breakfast for two—a package valued at over $500!

Hi. It’s me, Louie. It’s Giving Tuesday! Generous kindness can be part of our everydays. But, today is a day to pay special attention to it, and look for ways we can give. One way you can give today is by giving some dollars to to help us help children and families for lots of days. We have some friends who said that when people give a total of $25,000, they’ll give their dollars and double it! What that means is that if you give $10, your gift will become $20. It’s Giving Tuesday! We have a giving goal of $75,000: $25,000 for general operating needs, $25,000 to directly care for families, and $25,000 for new things because we have big plans to grow our staff and space in 2025. To some nonprofits, $75,000 may not seem like all that much. To us, it feels huge.

To help us get there, a few of our committed partners have pledged a match of $25,000. What that means is that when we reach $25,000 in giving, they will give another $25,000 to help us towards that $75,000 goal.

Our friends at Bear Creek Mountain Resort are helping by making Giving Tuesday giving even more rewarding. Every donor of $100 or more will get a chance to win a Spa Getaway Package which includes a Spring/Summer overnight stay for two in a King suite, $200 to use at the spa on location, and breakfast for two—a package valued at over $500!

Hi. It’s me, Louie. A friend and her mom came to visit me and my mom. When she visited one time, she said to her mom, “I can feel my cortisol going down knowing I’m about to see Louie.” (It’s okay if you don’t know what cortisol is; I’m glad to tell you. It’s something your body makes lots of when you feel anxious or stressed.) I’m glad I can make cortisols smaller.
