Due to hazardous road conditions from Tuesday's snow storm, the City of Fort Walton Beach's Emergency Management Team has decided that all city offices and facilities should remain closed through Thursday, Jan. 23, 2025.

In the event of an emergency requiring the services of Fort Walton Beach Police Department or the Fort Walton Beach Fire Department, dial 911.

Dangerously cold temperatures and wind chills will persist through tonight and Thursday morning! Temperatures will drop as low as 10 degrees over snow covered areas, and 15 degrees elsewhere. Avoid outdoor activities and dress appropriately if you have to be outdoors!

Good morning, Okaloosa County! As of 8:00 a.m., there are no reported road or bridge closures in the county.

Snow accumulations may vary today, but impacts are expected across the area, even in locations with minimal snowfall. Light snow could begin as early as 9:00 a.m., with heavier accumulations likely late morning through the afternoon.

Temperatures are forecast to drop into the teens and low 20s Tuesday night into Wednesday morning, with highs on Wednesday only reaching the mid to upper 30s. While mostly clear skies may help melt some snow and ice, any residual moisture is likely to refreeze overnight, potentially making roads hazardous.
