Dogs Are My Full-Time Job & Passion "You Love Your Pets Like Family...I Love Them Like Best Friends!"
My passion for pet care began in North Carolina after I worked with a Certified Professional Dog Trainer for my Corgi puppy, Mickey, using Positive Reinforcement. Two months later we moved to Northern Virginia for my husband’s job. I worked as an administrative assistant for a few months then quit to follow my passion. I started working as a full-time pet care provider for a large nationwide company back in December 2015. I gained a tremendous amount of experience by providing walks, drop-in visits, doggy daycare, and overnight boarding to over 50 different pets in Merrifield, VA during my first year.
In October 2016 I decided to start my own business to provide more flexibility for my clients when it comes to payment, scheduling and communication. And thus Mickey & Friends Dog Walks and Playdates LLC was born! I have had 4 hired helpers in the past but primarily work alone now and have since cared for nearly 250 dogs from puppies to seniors, over a dozen cats and even a bird. Mickey & Friends Dog Walks and Playdates LLC is fully insured, and licensed with the state of Virginia. I utilize a secure online client portal for payment, scheduling, and communication, and my customer service and flexibility is second to none.
As of March 2018, Mickey is a certified Canine Good Citizen and my loyal brand ambassador. In December 2019 my husband and I rescued an affectionate and playful Terrier mix named Belle from HART (Homeless Animal Rescue Team). For her first 4 months living with us she was in rehabilitation and on strict medical crate rest but with our patience and responsible care she has made a full recovery from Heartworm Disease!
In July 2020 we bought a home and I will be relocating my business 20 minutes away to Fair Oaks, VA. I am sad to leave behind so many wonderful animals and people in our neighborhood of 5 years, but hopeful and excited to provide the best customer service, value, quality and availability to ensure even more pets receive all the care and fun times they deserve!
