Magic starts with saving a life

PGF Unicorns is a dream come true, with some pretty amazing twists and turns along the way. That make me truly feel things are as they were meant to be, and Im doing what Im meant to be doing.

So this is Aurora the day i brought her home. She had been pulled off of a Kill buyers trailer at a meat auction in Virginia. A rescuer saw something in her eye, despite her many scares and a prominent limp, bargained with that driver...you see each pound of flesh put on his trailer is a dollar in his pocket. Three days past the date that rescuer promised her fee to be paid, I get a message from a random Facebook user who saw a post i made in a group... months ago. Following the trail of posts and helpers Im finally able to speak with the lady who had her on property. So in February my two boys, my husband and I drive up to Virginia and pick her up.

It took about a hour to get her on the trailer. She had been ridden right before we arrived, was so sweaty... scared and limping profusely. She was shaking and continued to shake the whole way home and about two days after. She was rode hard, and punished for not performing to expectations. She had no trust in adults..but gravitated to my children immediately. Responded to anything asked of her, always expecting a reprimand. It took a couple months, and a bunch of carrots, apples and hours sitting quietly with her...and she is now one of the sweetest ponies Ive ever met.
