Spenny is a lurcher type, we think approx 5-7 years old. She came in as a stray from the pound. She has been an absolute delight from day one and has a personality to die for. She is the sweetest, most loving, affectionate nature. Super gentle and makes friends with everyone she meets. Cuddles on the sofa and food are life. She's not the most active is happy to plod about and have a sniffy walk occasionally likes to have a mad 5 mins sprint with the younger lurchers but typically just potters about, she doesn't have any recall currently, but she does walk lovely on lead. Her favourite thing to do is be upside down getting belly rubs and fuss from her humans. She's not noisy at all. House training needs a little work but she is picking that up quickly. She is 100% people and dog friendly. No small furries due to her breed and background. We would gladly consider a home with other dogs or she would be more than happy being an only dog and getting all the fuss. She appears to be in good health just needing a dental and spay which will be done in rescue. She did have a seizure recently and saw a vet after, nothing to worry about doesn't require any intervention just something to monitor.

She's an absolute angel of a dog who deserves the very best loving home who are going to spoil her rotten.

Delilah came in as a stray from the pound, we have no history for her. She is fit and active. A lovely playful girly who loves to chase and play tug as well as a cuddle on the sofa. Shes can be abit of a cheeky monkey and does need someone who can set the boundaries for her and not let her get away with naughty behaviours no matter how cute she is. She can get a little nippy as any young lurcher does when over excited eg in a game of chase etc, she is working on controlling her impulses and getting progressively better, she wears a muzzle happily this allows her to be able to run and play with her friends without the risk of anyone getting hurt whilst she's still learning. She can be reactive/barky when she sees strange people and dogs when out on walks, this is easily managed and she is progressing well with her training in these situations and full support will be given from the rescue. She is the most active lurcher in the rescue and is always up for an adventure or a play. She has no basic training at the moment so is looking for an owner who can dedicate time to her training and socialising. She is looking for someone active with knowledge of hunting breeds (hound or terrier) who can take her on plenty rural adventures. She does have mild resource guarding towards other dogs when around high value treats and her food, again easily managed by putting her in her crate when eating, she is more than happy to have her chews and food around her people just not other dogs. Given her quirks she is looking specifically for someone with experience of the breed or the issues who can continue to work with her. She is super loving and will shout at you for a cuddle and very clever, picking up tricks and training very quickly

Bella is a teeny tiny little Pattie with a big personality. She is a very high energy girl and needs a particularly active outdoorsy home with lots of time to dedicate to her. A sport or activity for her to put her energy and mind to would be ideal. She had great fun at the North East Dog Festival trying various activities such as mantrailing, agility and scent work. She is very playful and loves her toys and to play tug with her people. A very affectionate girl that loves cuddles and fuss. She currently lives multi dog but at times can get a little jealous. She does seems happier living with other dogs rather than as a single but is better suited/more comfortable living with larger breeds or males. She responds very well in a home that can provide clear boundaries. A confident terrier experienced owner would suit. She needs work with lead training as does pull some. She currently sleeps in her crate in the kitchen at night happily. She would like a home with someone around more often than not. Currently left reasonable periods without issue but we don't want her to be left extended periods on a regular basis. House training is good. A little excitable in the car but does settle in crate. No cats or small furries . Respectful kids 12+considered.

Overall Bella is a fabulous little terrier with tons of potential. She does need a more experienced terrier and active home to bring out the very best in her. She will be an excellent addition to the right Patterdale loving home.

Bella is a gorgeous character....she adores her people and loves a cuddle and a fuss. She's is generally very chilled out at home and loves to snooze on the sofa getting lots of belly rubs. As a guardian she absolutely will bark and alert her people to any strange sounds or unknown people etc. A semi rural/rural home would be ideal with a large secure garden/land for her to enjoy. She is a giant breed and also a guardian breed so experience of or knowledge and understanding of her breed or similar is preferred. She is best as an only dog. She hasn't been very well socialised with other dogs and is very enthusiastic when meeting dogs outdoors, wants to bounce about and play with all, she is very much a gigantic silly puppy in her mannerisms. Not at all aggressive just not sure on the rules of play and due to her size can be a bit overwhelming. She enjoys her walks and generally being outdoors exploring. She must live as an indoor dog and obviously needs a home to accommodate her size. She has lived very happily with respectful teens. She enjoys playing with toys. She has been around horses without issue. She is perfectly housetrained. She enjoys a raw diet which we can advise on. She is in good health, neutered and has had a dental whilst in rescue.

Fred has mild epilepsy well controlled on drugs costing around £30 monthly.

Fred is a brilliant character. He is terrier sized and just as much fun. He's super playful and likes to interact with his humans and play with toys. He's affectionate and loving. He's a very clever and active little lad. Loves his walks. Much like terrier he needs to have a decent amount of exercise and enrichment to keep him a well balanced, happy and content boy. He needs a home with time and interest to dedicate to him. He's thrives on interaction from his people and is a joy to work and play with. He would be ideal for a home interested in dog sports, man trailing etc He's always happy and raring to go but equally after a busy day will come for cuddles on the sofa. Fred will bark at people passing his home if he has access to a front window or can hear a lot of noise outdoors. A rural quieter location would be preferable over a busy town type environment. Currently living semi rural with no issues. Fred walks well on lead, is great with the dogs he is in foster with, travels well in the car. He is toilet trained but in a busy multi dog foster will sometimes mark, we think this will resolve once he moves to a forever home. He is happy in his own bed downstairs with other dogs or equally cuddled up in bed with humans. He eats a raw diet, we can advise on this moving forward. He does get a little stressed when people leave the home but we area training place without barking (for him to go to bed with a treat ) and he is responding very well.

General info ...

We are completely foster based and have no rescue centre as such.

We are based in Northumberland

Meets are carried out at a neutral outdoor location. We expect all family members including resident dogs to attend meets.

We re-home UK wide for good terrier savvy homes. Have placed dogs as far away as Cornwall all the the way up to the Highlands. To make this possible there may be an added cost to help towards transport.

We always carry out our own home checks. This initially can be done by video if out of our area but an in person visit will be carried out before adoption is complete.

There is a minimum donation of £350.....this barely covers a basic spay and vaccination. Please bare in mind we generally spend so much more, often going into thousands, on the majority of our dogs to get them fit, healthy and adoption ready.

We receive absolutely no funding. We do our own fundraising and always welcome any support. We are not a registered charity but a small not for profit rescue.

We are a team of 3 people. A small but busy and productive team. Myself working around the clock and my colleagues both part time rescue wise. We work on a voluntary basis for the love of dogs only. We all have full time paid jobs, dogs and families of our own to care for alongside providing for fosters.

As we are such a tiny team our workload is huge and we must prioritise dog care over everything else.

We are unable to reply to unsuccessful applications due to time constraints.

We are unable to re-home to households with cats and small furries, birds etc .
Otherwise we will consider most all situations if it works for the individual dog.

All of our dogs have back up for life. If circumstances ever change our dogs always come back into rescue.

Treacle is a tiny little girl at around 3kg. She's a sweet and affectionate little love bug that loves to be close to her humans. She'd like a home where she won't be left for long periods. She is crate trained. She travels well. Will initially pull a little on lead. Needs a little encouragement with toileting. She's dog selective. If she doesn't feel comfortable she can be vocal/will growl. No aggression just likes to make her feelings known, being so tiny most everyone/thing is bigger and can be a little worrying. She can be a little growly when being picked up, possibly badly/roughly handled previously. At home she would probably prefer to be an only dog with lots of 1 to 1 fuss and attention from her people. She'd love a secure garden to potter. She is as cute as a button but very much a proper terrier. Still enjoys an interesting walk each day to explore and sniff. No cats or small furries. Older respectful teens only.

She is neutered, vaxed and chipped. Has had a major dental since pics were taken , all of the rotten teeth removed ..

Small breed knowledge/experience/understanding a bonus.

Custard isn't ready for adoption but we would be open to foster for now, with a view to adopting her once her vet work is complete. Custard is a little love bug, a gorgeous little companion anyone would be lucky to have. A very sweet, affectionate and loving little girl. She absolutely loves to be on your lap for cuddles, fuss and a snooze. She's a bit growly at times when being picked up, possibly been badly handled previously. She gets along with most other dogs but can get a bit jealous and would happily live as an only with lots of attention from her humans. We're looking for a home with humans around more often than not. A secure garden to potter would be ideal. She still very much enjoys her walks and we would like someone that is up for getting her out and about on interesting little adventures. She loves her food. Travels fine. Can pull on lead but exercise needs were not previously being met so hopefully this will improve with a good routine and some training. Very much treat orientated. No cats or small furries. Older respectful kids are a potential.

Custard needs a dental and spay in a couple of months time. Adoption won't be finalised until then and pending a successful foster period.

Alfie......Alf will be joining us next week. He's coming into rescue through no fault of his own, his elderly owner passed away and so he needs a new loving home. Alf is a dream boat in every respect. He's a Border /Patterdale mix, 5 years, neutered . He's ridiculously handsome and has a temperament to match. Very much dog and people friendly. House trained, travels well, walks well on lead. He doesn't do babies or small children they worry him. He's lived as an only but has lots of doggy friends. Could potentially live with another sociable, neutered and playful dog. He's used to a retired owner around more often than not but We're told can be left for reasonable periods without issue. He did break a leg as a puppy and has a touch of arthritis in that leg . He takes a joint supplement but this absolutely does not stop him zooming and playing. He is in no pain, just something to be aware of. Otherwise in great health.

We will assess further and post updates next week. I'm going to open applications for anyone wanting to express an interest.

Ruby.... Rubes is a Patterdale type around 12 years old. She is practically perfect in every way. She has the most lovely nature, a very sweet and gentle girlie. She's loving and affectionate with people and gets along fine with most other dogs. House trained and travels well. Happily sleeps in her snuggly bed in the kitchen but if allowed would love to cuddle up with her humans in bed. She enjoys her walks and is good on lead. She has that typical Patterdale silly playful side to her and is a bit of a comedian at times. She rarely if ever barks , mostly just if playing. She's a little picky with her food we're just trying to find something she really likes to settle her on. She came in very underweight and we're currently giving her 2 main meals and a small lunch of scrambled eggs/sardines/chicken to get a bit of weight on. She does have Cushing's which causes her absolutely no issues, very well managed with 1 tablet a day. Bloods needed maybes every 6 months or so. Otherwise she will have a scale and polish and we will restart her vaccinations. She's spayed already and otherwise in great health. She is quite literally not a pick of bother.
A home where she won't be left for too long with a secure garden to potter would be ideal. She likes to get out for a nice walk each day. Lots of cuddles and fuss required. She is just the sweetest little thing. Could possibly live with a neutered sociable dog . She is generally a very laid back character so long as other dogs aren't in her face.

Nikki is an absolutely beautiful little pup with a really lovely and steady temperament. She's affectionate and loving with people and dogs. A very sweet girlie. Playful, busy and generally just a little joy. She's bright as a button and a quick learner. Enjoys her food and is currently eating a raw diet. She will need an owner with lots of time to dedicate to a young pup. Training inc toilet and lead are ongoing. Puppy classes are recommended. She would do well with another neutered sociable older dog for company. Due to her age she needs a home where she won't be left long. Secure puppy safe garden essential. No cats or small furries. Respectful kids considered. Not used to travelling and a little queasy at present in the car.

We are looking for a foster / adoptive home for Ted asap. Ted is an absolutely stunning Lakie of 6yrs old. He's looking for a committed home with someone around more often than not. Ted walks brilliantly on lead and travels well. He's house trained and enjoys his food. He's always lived as an only dog but is friendly with most dogs outdoors and passes without any fuss . As per his breeding he will need an active outdoorsy home. He's a loving and affectionate lad and likes to be close to his people. Loves a belly rub and to cuddle up to his humans at night. He has lived in the same family home all of his life and will need patience and understanding whilst settling into new surroundings. He's an absolutely gorgeous character that will make a fab addition to a terrier savvy, active home.

Ted will steal food wrappers if given the opportunity and he will guard them. The very best way to avoid this is by simply keeping bins and wrappers out of his reach. Due to this we are looking for a child free home.
