The RMS Titanic not only carried human passengers, but also had twelve dogs on board. Among them were various breeds, including a French Bulldog, a Pekingese, a Fox Terrier, two Pomeranians and a Great Dane. These dogs were a symbol of the wealth and status of some of the passengers, but their fate on this fateful journey was as tragic as that of the ship.

When the Titanic sank, the chaos on board led to difficult decisions. Of the twelve dogs, only three survived: one Pekingese and two Pomeranians. These smaller breeds were easier to hide and were probably smuggled onto the lifeboats, giving them a rare chance of survival.

One of the tragic stories of that night is that of Elizabeth Isham, a 50-year-old passenger whose devotion to her Great Dane was exemplary. When the Titanic sank, Isham was told that her Great Dane was too big to be placed on a lifeboat. Faced with this heartbreaking decision, she decided to stay with her dog instead of leaving him behind.

Days after the sinking of the Titanic, Elizabeth Isham's body was found, still clinging to her beloved Great Dane.

Please think twice before buying these treats, and if your dog receives one as a gift, it’s best to throw it away. Rawhide chews may seem like a fun treat, but they can pose serious risks to your dog’s health.

Unfortunately, many of these so-called “treats” often lead to emergency vet visits, especially around the holidays. Most rawhide products are made from cattle or horse hides, and the process to make them involves harmful chemicals. First, the hides are soaked in toxic sodium sulfide to remove hair and fat. Then, they’re treated with additional chemicals to split the hides into layers, followed by hydrogen peroxide to make them look white and fresh while masking any rancid smell. After that, festive colors and glue are added to shape them into cute designs. Tests have even found traces of arsenic, mercury, chromium, and formaldehyde in these chews.

On top of the chemical concerns, rawhide is a major choking hazard and can cause serious intestinal blockages. When wet, the chews become slippery, making it difficult to grab if your dog starts choking. These risks are sadly more common than many people realize.

For your dog’s safety, it’s best to avoid rawhide entirely. Instead, try healthier, natural options like bully sticks, yak chews, or vet-approved dental treats. For dogs that love to chew, durable toys made from rubber or nylon are great alternatives. And while these options are safer, no chew is completely risk-free, so always supervise your dog while they enjoy their treats.

Keeping our pets happy and safe is what matters most. A little extra care can go a long way in protecting their health.

Please do your research and don't fall for their excuses or lies.

❗ Heads up to everyone, dog breeding activity is a Licensable activity regardless if you breed dogs at home or on a commercial property. If you breed a one off litter or more a year unless you're giving the puppies away for free. As soon as you're asking money for them, you're a becoming a "business"❗

Everyone who is selling animals as pets, must have a licence to do so.

"The Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) (England) Regulations 2018"

❗The "Lucy's Law" bans the third party sale of puppies, which means that puppies can only be sold to new owners by breeders or rescue centres. Essentially, Lucy's Law cuts out the dealers who bought puppies from puppy farms or smuggled them in from breeding establishments overseas to be sold into the UK market.

Love dog

"Yesterday I adopted the oldest, sickest, and sorest shelter dog. I'll never forget his eyes. When I went into the cage he didn't even bother to look, he knew I wouldn't even see him.
Curling around the corner He'd accepted his fate. The volunteer said to me many times... Are you sure this one? Are you sure? YES! This is my dog. He opened the cage and 3 animals fell on me. I ran towards him, suddenly he looked at me as if he saw an angel... I hugged him and told him that now he'll be happy again. Then he sleeps in my lap... probably the first peaceful sleep he ever had.
Give it a life. Give it a hug. They need us."
