Quick tick checks can help prevent tick-borne illnesses. Be sure to check these spots for ticks after enjoying a hike! 🌄

Unfortunately, ticks can be found in grassy areas and wooded edges, which are common features of many playgrounds. These sneaky critters can easily latch onto your child's clothing or skin and go unnoticed. 🌳

TickKey is small, easy to use and painless - a perfect item to pack in your child's backpack just in case as you send them back to school this fall! 🎒

If you’ve requested more info about Apollo and haven’t heard back from me yet, please reach out again. FB doesn’t always let me message from my page and I don’t want his perfect home to miss out. 🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾
Due to no fault of his own, Apollo is waiting for his own family to love him forever ❤️
He was the last puppy still with us so we started training.
🐶He was born 2/5/24
🐶Has all of his puppy shots and on flea and tick preventative. (Vet records will follow him).
🐶 He is crate trained and follows basic commands (sit, down, come).
🐶 Learning to walk on leash.
🐶 Awesome temperament, not overly excitable but also loves to play ball!
Message me if you would like to make him yours!

The training content continues! Whether you use this image, or create your own, the topic of loose leash training is something that you may want to take the time to explain further. You can share this, and then follow up with a video, or go LIVE, and answer Q&A. Be prepared to share from your experience what leashes, collars, and harnesses you prefer. If you're not comfortable the topic, find a video of a trainer that you like and share that. Or, invite a local trainer to address the topic!

If your puppy bolts out into traffic, assess the situation quickly. Calling them might be fatal because you may be asking them to run back into traffic.

If you encounter an aggressive dog, this recall could be great, or it could trigger the aggressive dog to chase (a long down stay might be best in this situation). Again, assess and use your best judgement.

Step it up and practice this command with a long drag line (20 plus feet) and take them out in a high distraction area. When they are not focused on you, call “puppy puppy puppy”. If they don’t come? Reel them in and keep calling them. Remember to only be positive and happy (even if you are frustrated and have to reel them in). Give them lots of praise and a treat when they reach you. Let them go back out and explore and place and repeat a few times. Coming to you should always be positive and safe!
