Between the ears in a very different way. Today I went out with this team of amazing horse's including my handsome Phase. I focus on training the mind and the body when riding but when they have a job like this it's important that they are confident. It's been a pleasure watching how fantastically this Team are trained and how beautifully they are driven.

Bringing Henric back into work has been a pleasure, after spending last month with my mentor Sean Coleman - Applied Horsemanship we have been working on travers, half-pass, leg yield, counter ark circle, haunches in and haunches out. But today we done some show prep and I'm pleased to say he's starting to feel good and closer to getting back in the show ring.

As many of you know I am passionate about my riding and being successful in my journey to work with horses and I have been very lucky to have lots of great opportunities offered to me. With that being said I am so honoured to be asked to be a Brand Ambassador for Diva Tails Jewellery,Vicky Semple is so talented and what she makes is just amazing, her work is bespoke and made to perfection.

As you all know Henric is my two eyes and now I've got the perfect hair bracelet he's with me all the time. He will be in the Divas updates soon showing off my new clothing and saddle cloth 😁

Tonight we introduced a 6 month old filly to a new environment, as we all know the school is a big part of our horses lives and I want them to feel its a safe place. Yes I could have had her on a rope and halter with her running around in circles because she was unfamiliar of her environment and emotional, but instead I used my horse to give her confidence, I allowed her to be free to explore with no pressure. There were times that she was unconfident but because my horse didn't react and stayed listening and connected to me she was able to regain confidence. My horse was the perfect partner in this situation.

This post is about partnership. My trainer Sean Coleman Sean Coleman - Applied Horsemanship (please take a look at his page, he offers some fantastic courses) always says how good is your partnership? "When the sun is shining and the birds are singing, everything is rosie but when things go wrong at the times that really matter, how good is your partnership?" So I've spent alot of time making sure my horse listens to my aids and doesn't get emotional when things don't go to plan. My next post will show an example of why it is important for your horse to listen and connect to you and not about the situation around him.

Today I introduced this little filly to the shower! It is important that they are confident with the water being on them even at this age, not because you need to "Bath" them but if you ever need to wash off a cut, cold hose a leg ect that they are not worried. I gave her plenty of time to investigate the water before trying to put it on her legs and reading her body language to know when she was confident for me to move on or if she needs more time.
