A few updates and reminders...

I have been holding off as long as possible, but the rising costs of literally everything have made it necessary for me to increase my prices. Fuel and vehicle maintenance are my primary expenses, and those costs have increased significantly. I do my best to keep my services affordable to everyone in order to help as many horses as possible. As of January 1, 2025, adjustments will be $85, acupuncture treatments will be $85, laser pricing will still be based on the area being treated. Additional charges may apply for initial evaluations, acupuncture point scans, etc. If you have questions about pricing before your appointment, please feel free to ask!

And a reminder...please make every effort to have your horse ready at the time of our appointment. That means in the barn, reasonably clean and dry if at all possible. I realize I do not always run on time, but I do my best to keep people informed if I am running late (or ahead - it does happen once in a great while 😂) and one of the ways you can help me stay on time is to be ready when I get there. If you have a situation that you think may require extra time, please let me know in advance. I hate that I have to say these things, but I need my time to be respected. Also - in most cases I will need someone to hold the horse for me for safety and time efficiency. Some will stand well in cross ties, but many do not!

Our Story

Nancy Adams, DVM graduated from The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2011 with an equine emphasis. In 2012, she completed a yearlong internship in equine medicine at Kansas State University. Returning to her longtime hometown of Cincinnati, she decided to pursue further education in several complementary treatment modalities that had always been of interest, and completed post-graduate training in veterinary acupuncture through the International Veterinary Acupuncture Society and animal chiropractic through Parker University while also working in small animal practice. In 2018 she became certified in equine kinesiology taping through Rocktape and began to offer laser therapy.

Dr. Adams has a varied equine background. She started out in 4-H and participated in Western and English disciplines, ranging from horsemanship and showmanship to contesting and jumping. She moved from 4-H shows to competing in jumpers up to the A circuit level. In 1999 she switched to eventing and has been competing in eventing and dressage ever since. Dr. Adams currently owns McVille, a 1992 Thoroughbred gelding and Bright Monday (Bunny), a 2009 Trakehner gelding. Dr. Adams is now available for acupuncture and chiropractic appointments for horses in greater Cincinnati and surrounding areas. She is currently licensed in Ohio, Indiana, and Kentucky. As a rider herself, with experience in many different disciplines, she is able to interpret what the rider is feeling and use that information to find problems the horse may be experiencing. Her favorite thing about her job is the fact that she can offer additional options that work in conjunction with traditional medicine to provide pain relief and healing to her patients.
