Energy Healing releases tension, helps relax, soften and rebalance themselves. Reiki aids from performance issues, old/current injury and trauma. With sore horses not moving well, Reiki can facilitate better ease of movement by unblocking unhelpful held energies and increasing vitality and energy flow. I’ve been successfully treating a few horses and beloved pets. I’m a Reiki Master and have had success on a range of sore, stoic, sensitive (hands off) and on receptive (hands on) horses and pets - introductory rate, so if anyone would like a reiki energy treatment for their horse, or for both horse and rider, and pets, please let me know!

Unlike humans, horses are designed to run on a full stomach. Feeding your horse 2-3L of chaff or a biscuit of hay prior to exercise has two benefits :
1️⃣ The chaff will form a ball of feed in the stomach, which will help prevent acid from splashing up from the lower part of the stomach to cause gastric ulcers.
2️⃣ Blood is normally diverted away from the stomach during exercise, which reduces some of its normal protective mechanisms. Research has shown that feeding your horse before exercise actually reduces the amount of blood that is shunted away from the stomach and also increases the amount of blood delivered to the skeletal muscles and muscles of the chest. So not only are you helping to protect the stomach, you also might be improving your horse’s performance.

Between us we have 55 years’ experience of working with energy and we thought it would helpful (and hopefully fun) to get together on a live Zoom meeting so we can share our perspective and experiences of working with energy.
Energy is an integral part of connection, communication and healing. As part of our conversation we hope to give you insights and tools for you to use with all of these aspects of your life.

Tips on how to soothe anxious pets with Reiki and the plant energies of flower essences.

Please note that all behaviour needs to be taken in the context/ environment in which the horse finds themselves when you see these behaviours. Note that ourselves and OUR behaviour is also part of the horse’s environment. All behaviour needs to be considered in context ie. what happened prior, during and after and what is the horse's history regarding training, health status/injury and experiences with humans, other horses and various environments, etc.

If your horse is snoozing under a tree and yawns, most likely the horse is not experiencing fear. (Although they could potentially be experiencing discomfort or pain.)

If you've just done or are doing some groundwork, round pen work, ridden work, gone for a hack, or dentistry, bodywork, worming or vaccinations, or even just tying up and brushing your horse, you MAY see these signs and more. The more of these behaviours you see, the more likely that you are seeing a response to fear, stress pain, discomfort or frustration or a combination.

Change our behaviour, the environment, lower our expectations and review our training plans to avoid seeing these behaviours in a training or handling context.

All behaviour has function, it has a purpose for the horse, even if we don’t know what it is or understand it, horses behave in certain ways for a reason. They are masters of subtle communication and we need to learn to read those subtle signs and the big signs as well, not brush them off.

Also consider that if fear as been ruled out, that these behaviours may be caused by the horse's internal environment such as pain or injury, ie. always rule out pain as a cause for certain behaviours FIRST.
