We had a very interesting morning at BLS on Friday thanks to Cheltenham Equine Vets.
For me personally I found it interesting to be able to see the structures of the limbs giving me a better understanding of procedures that had been preformed on horses I have known. There was plenty of opportunities to ask questions, thank you to Lindsay, Jess and Becky for that.
Vlad was a very well behaved model who allowed everyone to pop in to his stable and have a feel for a digital pulse. Bless him.
I would thoroughly recommend to anyone with an interest in having a better understanding of equine anatomy and soundness to attend if another opportunity arises.

Three Stables and some facilities available for rent to a equine based business.
The facilities lend themselves to equine veterinary purposes, vettings, lameness work ups etc. Recently used by Chelt Equine Vets to hold a gastroscopy clinic. Equally could provide a base for an equine dentist, physio or similar./possibley shared?
BLS is based just a few minutes from Cheltenham 5 mins from the M5 & central to Cheltenham, Gloucester and Tewkesbury.
The 3 Stables available are within a open fronted barn with a small covered yard. 2 Stables are 12x12 ft and the other 12x16 ft.
There is a 20x40 metre manage. Hard surface for parking / lunging, round pen and safe trot up on drive. Possibly limited turn out in small flat paddock. This is being offered to professional businesses only with appropriate insurance. If anyone would like further details please PM me. Thank you for reading.

We're pleased to be lending the facilities at BLS to Cheltenham Equine Vets next week for their winter limb workshop. This looks like being a very interesting and informative afternoon . It's open to all, you don't need to be a client and it's in aid of a very worthy charity. I understand that there are still tickets available from the practice if anyone without a ticket would like to attend.

Wishing all of my clients and friends a Very happy new year. Last year was a time to regroup and consider the future not least as this year contains an unpleasant birthday! 🙄
I have achieved making a good start on getting the yard up together again and have new ideas for the coming year but more of that in a future post. There have been highs and lows as always, the loss of Parsley my eternal puppy who never grew up and always lived life was very hard. I'm so lucky to have two other amazing four legged friends that have come to live with me this year, who both have enormous characters.
We also welcomed Becky to my annex, she is an equine vet and Vlad has already benefited from her presence. Thanks Becky! 😊
Bri didn't get out as much as I would have liked, but determined to be on top of that this year! We did dip our toes in the water though both dressage and sj with pleasing results.
So here's hoping that 2024 is a good one for us all 🤞🤞 Best wishes to you all xx

NB NOT A RECENT PHOTO
It's come to my notice that many people are visiting this page to view posts of lovely Belle.
I understand that now that her foal is weaned she is looking for a new home. Please can I say that I am more than happy to speak with anyone who has a genuine interest in her. I know her full history and it would be in hers and any prospective buyers best interests to get in touch.
Sadly I have no child to ride her assuming she comes back to work and neither do I have the connections to breed jumping ponies otherwise I would buy her back. I would however always offer her a home, now or in the future. She is a lovely pony.

Not before time! ...... Brianna and I took our first trip down the centre line today. The venue at Moores farm was perfect all very chilled and low key and pleased to report she behaved impeccably.. She had a win in her first class and 4th in her second. Apart from being a bit looky at the white boards you wouldn't have known she was a first timer Chuffed, now where next 😁.

Dillon horse whisperer

29/07/2023

We have a new apprentice at BLS. I am hoping he will shape up to take on the role of pest control officer but he seems to see himself in other roles atm!! He has tried out gymnastics and a bit of horse whispering join up to name but a couple! Thank goodness he has 9 lives, I certainly have more than 9 more grey hairs from his antics! Huge thank you to Jane volunteer from New Start cat rescue for sending him along for the interview. What he lacks in experience he more than makes up for in enthusiasm 🙄😁. All joking apart they have loads of cats and kittens looking for homes. I can't promise that they will be like Dillon as he does seem to be a bit 'special' 😂 but lovely cats in need of homes.

I had a lovely evening this week with a youngster at her first show. Unusually for me it was a two legged youngster rather than a four legged one!
Having taught many of my friends and clients children I now find myself teaching their grandchildren. I must be getting very.......... experienced!!! 😂😂
Total pleasure to be in the company of such a well mannered and pleasent young lady x

It's been nice to have some drier weather this week with all lessons able to go ahead. I teach a whole range of horses are ponies. The one thing that they all have in common being that their riders have a real desire to improve their's and their horses /ponies abilities. If anyone would like to join me for some help in achieving your personal goals, please feel free to contact me and send me a message.

It was lovely to hear that regular clients Emma and Tucker did exceptionally well at their first show of the year at Allens Hill recently. A test score of 69%+ and just one sj down was good enough for second place in the combined training, well done both!
We've also recently had this very pretty home bred mare 'Foxy' staying with us for the first time. It's fair to say that she made lots of friends during her stay and we look forward to welcoming her back again soon x

It's not just the invaluable farmers who take away my muck heap that appreciate the new concrete base put in last year. Pars no longer has to get muddy paws when raiding the muck heap for bits of hoof following the farriers visit, one of his favourite past times!

It was certainly a hectic week, not helped by the weather which has played havoc with lessons. It was lovely to see the barn full again for the first time in a while, and it was nice to focus back on my job and horses rather than other things outside of equestrianism. We have managed despite the weather to continue daily turn out including today when fog did mean they were ready to come in a bit earlier.
I really feel that this is so important. In my experience (not telling you how many years experience though, as it's too many 😁) if they go out daily I believe they are safer than keeping in, as they will likely explode with excess energy when finally let out. Even more importantly it keeps them in a better place mentally and helps stop undesirable behaviour through lack of stimulation. Well that's my opinion anyway! 😊

Zonda has been the first of our holiday liveries for 2023. Her owner Jane went on the holiday of a lifetime to spend Christmas and New year in Thailand. Unfortunately although everything started wonderfully, poor Jane ended up in a Bangkok hospital! This delayed her flight home. I always keep a spare stable so that if anything like this ever occurs I am able to help out. I am starting to receive bookings now for 2023 so please if anyone would like to use this facility regular customers and new please get in touch.
Pictures of Zonda on her holiday, having a nicer time than her poor owner Jane.

This young lady has become so much more established this year and was set several times to go for an outing, but unfortunately events in my own life prevented this from happening. Hopefully this will be her year and hopefully it will be a special year for all of my clients and their lovely horses too x

Wishing all of my clients /friends a Very merry Christmas and a happy new year. I'm hopeful of a return to business as usual in the new year. I already have several of my regular holiday horses booked in through to mid February. After which we could take in another part or full livery. Ideally a friend for my existing livery but if anyone would like to discuss further please give me a call in the new year. A few recent Christmasy pics and a final word from our resident Robin. I'd like to say he's wishing you all a Merry Christmas but I actually think he's telling me to hurry up with the meal worms 😂🎄🎅🎉

Sorry its been a while since I've posted much on here, it's fair to say that I have had better years. Illness seems to have been prevalent for my most important people this year followed by bereavement and a little health scare of my own. I hope next year is kinder!
However in an attempt to move forward here are some pictures of those who help me keep going every day and a reminder from the weather as to how beautiful life is x

It's been a busy summer so far! Lots of regular holiday liveries coming in and it's lovely when they just slip into the routine like a home from home 😊
We've just said cheerio to a first timer (horse but not owners) who came in for a little bit of schooling as she was getting a little above herself. As only a relative youngster sensibly her owners thought she would benefit from a week or so on the straight and narrow so to speak 😊
It was lovely to see both horse and rider looking happy and armed with the tools to continue her education I'm hopeful that things will continue to improve. However, remember as always I'm only on the other end of the phone if any further help is needed.
We've also had new post and rails plus gate for the entrance. Many thanks to the Minchew boys for making a super job of it. If anyone is in need of any fencing then I would definitely recommend them. Paddocks sprayed and w**d free. Just the fab four this week so look out Brianna it's your turn again! 😁
