Berry just loves to be outside with friends. She enjoys investigating everything especially when the weather is nice. Berry is calm and loving. She can chase and run around fast while playing. 👏🤩We assisted 10 dogs out of Cleburne animal shelter, Cleburne Tx to meet Austin Pets alive rescue team this Saturday. As you may know shelters are incredibly full with wonderful cats and dogs. We as a rescue take in what we can to our fosters, but we also work with other rescues like Austin Pets alive. 🤝 These 🔟 pups will get to have better lives because of our networking team. ORION'S STORY - North Texas giving day - Shelter2Rescue

🐱ORION'S STORY💜 - This one will pull at your heart strings 🥹 Orion came into Cleburne animal shelter this summer. He is that big ole dark orange tabby cat that you just have to love. His eyes were mostly shut with goop and he wasnt feeling good at all. The shelter got him on meds, and daily care to clean up his eyes. After weeks he was looking better but his eyes were still bothering him. Next came. time to get him felv/fiv tested to see if that might be part of the problem. Great news! He was negative for Felv/fiv. But, this still didnt answer why he had so much problem with his eyes. Our wonderful volunteer Danielle said she would foster Orion so he could be saved from the very full shelter. This would allow us to get him the care he needed. He went in for his neuter and vaccines. While he had his surgery the wonderful vet said he had entropian eye lids on all four eye lids. We were happy to know his diagnoses but concerned because it was going to be a costly surgery. We took Orion to a few vets to get estimates and to figure out the best plan for him. The cost of surgery would be $1270. This was for all four eye lids. We had to get this done, even though we didnt have the money in the account to pay for it. Orion had his visits prior to surgery and then the surgery day he was a great patient. The surgeries were successful, but he did look like something from a horror movie. Even though it looked terrible, he would already be on the road to recovery. After a few weeks and a follow up, he was already doing better. The stitches came out and he started to look better. It takes time for surgeries to really heal and his beautiful orange fur to grow back. Orion is 7-8 years old. A big love muffin. He has made a best friend in his foster home. You can see how much freedom and how comfortable he feels now. Because he had the eye surgeries Orion will not completely loose his eye sight.
