Got back from the show Cthululu The Musical by Puppeteers for Fears. I very much enjoyed it. Stef has a pic of me with Cthululu and Bart? Brad? the Shoggoth. I got the music cd. I think I vaguely recognized about half the audience, but as it wasn't a convention dealers room, my brain refused to supply any info.
It's too bad it was only one show. Apparently the puppeteers love to go off script with some of the lines. The guitarist (rock musical)was cracking up at times at apparently ad libbed lines.
The venue stayed open so people could chat and get pictures. The whole crew of the puppeteers group were still upbeat despite a 2 1/2 hour long workout of a show! We thanked them and got a few pics, bought a cd while Stef showed off her monsters and were declared "one of us" when they locked the doors while we were in the bathroom.
It was a good night.

Surgery apparently went OK. I was kind of out of it and don't recall talking to the doctor! Stef said he was surprised that the hole was "significantly larger than anticipated". Bed rest for a week then see how I'm feeling as to activity. But hopefully no more mysterious flaires on my MRIs and less risk of stroke, migraines and heart problems!

Bast's Garden will not be at Capricon. Hotel is not allowing sleep in security. Since we are recovering from surgeries, we are ok with this.

Cat goddess Bast with kittens. Faience ring from Egypt. Note: you'll often see this name spelled Bastet, but that is a misread of the final T character which is a feminine marker. Wasn't pronounced, only written, until later in Egyptian history. (See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bastet for fuller explanation.)

Bast had many aspects. "Bastet was originally a fierce lioness warrior goddess of the sun, worshipped throughout most of ancient Egyptian history. Later she became the cat goddess that is familiar today. She then was depicted as the daughter of Ra and Isis, and the consort of Ptah, with whom she had a son, Maahes."

"Along with other deities such as Hathor, Sekhmet, and Isis, Bastet was associated with the Eye of Ra. She has been depicted as fighting the evil snake named Apep, an enemy of Ra.[12] In addition to her solar connections, she was also related to Wadjet, one of the oldest Egyptian goddesses from the Southern Delta who was dubbed "eye of the moon".

I did a few on Flower petals!

This little Bast kitty is hand sculpted of black and gold Premo polymer clays. The jewelry pieces and flower petals are cane slices. The eyes are glass and the ear rings are metal. It measure approximately 2 1/2 inches tall and 2 inches wide. Created by Basts Garden artist Sandra B**g
