In my years of pet sitting I have only gotten bit twice when going to a meet and greet to meet a new dog. The bites came from absolutely sweet dogs that had never bit anyone before. After the bite and I was introduced they were the most friendly dogs! This is something you may have not thought of but is important to know as an owner. When someone you have invited comes to your house make sure they come in the door that family and friends enter. If deliveries come to the front door but friends usually enter the back make sure that a newcomer know the correct door to come to. The two occasions when I was bit I came to the delivery door and was let in. One was the front door so I would have no way to know that. Some dogs don't like delivery drivers. They have loud trucks and are stranger danger. I mean I wouldn't let a delivery person in my door either! So just be aware. Now I know to ask when coming to meet pups in a new home. But I thought this was good for people to know having new friends over. Have a good day!
