Here's Jupiter before we got him. He was in a foster home for a different rescue, and they were unable to keep him. He's a great guy, needs time to adjust to new people. Not particularly good with other dogs, as Anatolian Shepherds were bred to be livestock guardians. He's protective, playful, and would be a loyal family dog. He also loves playing in his wading pool. Here’s our new girl ❤️

Here’s our new girl. No teats, no lactating, thank our lucky stars. She’s very young, teeth as white as ivory 🐾

And a quick update on Big Daddy 🐾 He’s starting to wag his tail and smile when he sees us coming. Baby steps 😊

And a quick update on Big Daddy! He’s really made good progress and has started wagging his tail (and smiling 😄) when he sees us.

Maggie came to Dog Town on February 3rd. We trapped her, and her buddy, Big Daddy, near the dead cow they’d been surviving on. She’s come such a long way since then. She’s learning to trust, and that it’s a good thing to be near people.

Miss Maggie came to Dog Town (with Big Daddy) after we managed to trap them near the dead cow they were surviving on. She’s made great strides, is learining to trust, and even enjoy human contact.

We’ve been working to earn the trust of these two for a while now. They’re getting braver, so we’ll probably get our traps out Saturday morning. They’re out by the same dead cow where we got Maggie and Big Daddy. Thank you to Karen and Truffles for donating the treats ❤️

Izzy!

Here’s where some of your donations go. Izzy is zooming around in her wheels 🩷 She needs regular vet care for her injured spine, but she’s living her best life.

Jupiter is hoping for a home with a family to accept him with the qualities he brings. Livestock Guardian dogs don’t generally tolerate other dogs. So thankful that Trooper is drinking water on his own. We had been giving him subcutaneous (under the skin) fluids twice a week at one point in time, to keep him from getting dehydrated. Yes, that’s Baran photo-bombing.

New girl at Dog Town. About 5 months old, this sweetie is just getting on her shots. She’ll be available in about 6 more weeks ❤️

Jupiter is another available dog who will probably be with us for life. He’s a middle-aged Anatolian Shepherd who does what he was bred to do: guard. Not good with dogs or people he hasn’t been introduced to. Hard to place dogs like him. Dog Town Canine Rescue Home for Unwed Mothers. Fawn is from the Walker Lake Reservation, and she now has 9 babies. She’s a good momma, but is being kind of tight-lipped about who her boyfriend was.

Pitbull mix pups! Momma is in the video, no idea what the mix is. Will be adoptable late July/early August.
