It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Canine Academy's dog - Dexter. He came to us over 11 years ago at the age of two. He had a checkered past, and also needed much work when he arrived. He never left us. He was excellent with all types of dogs - puppies, shy dogs, dogs that were terrified of other dogs. Everyone loved Dexter. He was our mascot. Michelle taught him tricks, and was fond of their walks in the fields together. Everyone here had him help out with classes and private lessons. He always earned his keep. We will miss his soulful eyes, his laid back personality, and the silly things he did to make us laugh. Goodbye Dexter, you will always be in our hearts.

Our Pets Alive WNY foster dog, Mona, doing a little mental engagement for her dinner tonight. Mona is sniffing out pieces of kibble in the grass utilizing her mind and her nose! Snuffle mats, puzzle toys, and “snuffle grass” are great ways to have your dog play with their food!

Lots and lots of proofing! River demonstrates his place command under many distractions!

Board and Train River is back to the grind! Working and proofing his skills in one of our evening obedience classes 🙂 💪

August (Jumpstart puppy) took his first field trip to Tractor Supply today to help me pick out birdseed. He picked the largest bag possible. 😅

Jump start puppy Oakley is working on desensitizing to grooming for future upkeep of her gorgeous golden coat. Today she learned the blow dryer not only isn’t scary, it feels good- and you get snacks!
